What's Your Favorite Psalm?

One of my favorites is Psalm 100:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence

with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us,

and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of

his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Psalms 119:11-"Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee...Along with that one I really love

Proverbs 3:5,6- "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.

Back in my elementary days in Indiana, there was such a thing as religious education in the public school system and I went across the street to the little Nazarene church for religious ed. once a week. It was part of the public school curriculum. I learned those verses there and they have been with me the rest of my life. Through thick and thin I have always referred back to them as a lifeline. Oh, my, what woudl the public school say today? We have come a long way baby, but not in the right direction.

PSALMS 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9  Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

I would have to choose the center of the bible, Psalm 113

Praise the LORD!!

Praise O servants of the LORD,

Praise the name of the LORD!!

Blessed be the name of the LORD

From this time forth & forevermore!!

From the rising of the sun to it's going down

Th LORD'S name is to be praised

The LORD is high above all nations,

HIS glory above the heavens

Who is like the LORD our GOD,

Who Dwells on high,

Who humbles HIMSELF to behold

the things that are in the heavens & in the earth?

HE raises the poor out of the dust,

And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,

That HE may seat Him with princes-

with the princes of HIS people.

He grants the barren woman a home,

Like a joyful mother of children.

Praise the LORD!!

KdeeB,

Psalm 121 is another good one about our protection:

I WILL lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee

will not slumber.

Behold,he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper; the Lord is thy shade upon thy right

hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by

night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve

thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from

this time forth and even for evermore.

God Bless You,

Deborah

Psalm 73

A Psalm of Asaph

23 Nevertheless I am continually with You;

You hold me by my right hand.

24 You will guide me with Your counsel,

And afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but You?

And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.

26 My flesh and my heart fail;

But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God;

I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,

That I may declare all Your works.

God Bless,,, Bruce,,,,,, :peace: o u t !!!!
