About Me
I love the rain when the sun is shining, and sometimes when it isn't, and I don't mind getting soaked in it...hair was made to be messed up! Smells that make me feel good are fresh ground coffee, leather, rain on dirt or asphalt, lemon, spices and flowers. I'm just as happy when a man cuts a flower out of his own garden and brings it to me, as I would be with a dozen yellow roses - the gesture is most important.
A few years ago I discovered that I feel great when I eat healthy and stay active, so I try to live that lifestyle. I'm not vegetarian, but I eat mostly chicken, fish, fruits, vegetables, and grains. I am not a fanatic...I still enjoy my guilty pleasures...a really good juicy steak once in a while, or a bowl of ice cream.
My current project is remodeling my house...I am on the last three rooms and for some reason decided to do them all at once! I have no kitchen right now, but hope to have it back in a couple of months. The rest of the house has turned out great, so I'm sure this will too...it is a challenge, but I'm up to it!
I'm a sucker for a great smile, dimples are a plus but not required...:) I love to be around upbeat positive people who enjoy life.
I enjoy riding motorcycles, but haven't ridden by myself since the dirt bike days in my teenage years. I don't snow ski, but don't mind if you do...tried that for three years, liked the sport okay, but didn't really like the crutches! I've waterskiied a few times, and wouldn't mind learning how to do that right.
I've learned that life throws you curveballs sometimes (so far I'm fielding them pretty well I think!) and you end up doing things you never thought you would do, like writing about yourself and posting it on the internet! If you asked my friends and family they would say I'm fun, nice, fairly intelligent, and adventurous (but no bungee jumping or skydiving!). I like to try new things, travel to places I haven't seen before, go back to places I saw and enjoyed, and spend time with my grandkids...yes, I have grandkids and they are the best! Family is very important to me, and a priority in my life. I do some volunteer work and sometimes travel to the Seattle area or Washington D.C. for that.
I am fairly independent and I'm enjoying myself these days, but it would be nice to have someone enjoying it with me. Friendship first - it seems a lot of people on here say that - but I think it is important. After that, who knows? Email me and let's talk - I enjoy meeting new people and gathering new friends. Good luck with your journey...
First Date
A first date would probably be coffee or lunch, or a walk in the park...something simple. Maybe a latte and a walk.
