“He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" Matthew 26:39, NKJV.

At this moment, I desire a new car. We have the money and we wouldn't have any problem getting approved. There wouldn't be any issue with walking out the door and buying one, except for one thing: I prayed and it's not God's will.

One of the toughest prayers for a man sometimes is to ask not your will, but that God's will be done in your life. You know what you want, but at the same time, you know what you need and that is His will. You believe He knows what He's doing, but the rubber meets the road when you have to act like you do. We know He has your best in mind, but it's whole another thing to humble yourself to what His best is.

This prayer means you have to let go of your desire for His desire. His will sometimes feels as beyond a closed curtain and involves the things that you may can't see or don't understand. His will is sometimes yes, and sometimes He says you will have to wait. Either way, He wants you to surrender your will, and be content with His plan.

Don't be afraid of what He shows you--whether He says I want you to focus on this right now, stop going out with them, or My will for you is to be single right now and pursue Me, as I prepare you for the wife I have to come. Remember, He is perfect and His will is perfect. When His will is done in our lives, when it's all over, we'll have nothing missing, nothing broken.

Prayer: Father, thank You for even having a desire and plan for my life. I humble myself and surrender my will. I believe You know what's best for me. I know what I desire, but I pray right now that Your will be done. Whatever You want Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
