As a aspiring medieval historian, one has to say that this is probably the most honest book when it comes to the Knights Templar. Michael Haag sticks with the historical and archaeological evidence when presenting the story of this monastic order. He also does an excellent job of debunking all the silly rumours about black magic, demonic rituals, Templar links to Freemasonry and the whole situation with Templars and Roslyn Castle. He has also taken the time to present the evidence from the Chinnon Parchment proving that the Templars were actually acquitted of all their so called crimes by Pope Clement V in a secret hearing at Chinnon castle in France. If you have an interest in medieval history or even history in general this is definitely a book for you.
