A good movie to watch. Which fallacies have you seen here in the forums?

Yes, quite a few fallacies around here

That’s one of the reasons people disagree. Some people just refuse think or argue rationally.

But I do have an issue with some logicians, especially those of the agnostic/atheistic persuasion who fallaciously misinterpret the logical error of “circular reasoning” or the “fallacy of begging the question” concerning the self-affirmation of the Bible.

But self-affirmation or circular reasoning is used in a court of law everyday.

Even atheists must ultimately attest to the self-validity of their own self asserted assumptions (a perfect example of circular reasoning). Atheists/agnostics hardly produce a consistently rational argument for their belief there is no God or that they don’t know if there is a God

Circular reasoning is valid in a court of law when a self-affirming testimony is validated by evidence or consistent with it.

The Bible’s self-validation is clearly affirmed by its consistency and its truthfulness especially when evidenced by its many fulfilled past prophecies that are easily verifiable to any objective observer

Atheists provide the best evidence for their extremely bad reasoning denoted by the fallacy defined in the fallacy of begging the question or circular reasoning

Here's a fallacy ' people own their home'.

If you have to pay the government rent every year AKA property tax then clearly you don't own your home. Government provided services could just be paid for out of income tax but taxing a property removes the capability for a person to live outside the system. If you run out of money to pay that tax you have to sell the home or go to jail.

Great post Marcouse and so true! Many think just because the 'testimony' of the courthouse say you have a deed to the property, you must be the owner by that 'evidence' to the so called fact! LOL!

Lets look at another assumption that is nothing but a theory!

David writes - 'Circular reasoning is valid in a court of law when a self-affirming testimony is validated by evidence or consistent with it.'

David thinks just because some of the science 'court of law' in CLAIMING that 'gravity' is somehow a 'law' by there 'self-affirming testimony' is somehow 'validated by evidence' of the majority and therefore 'consistent with it' as being true!? Its much like 'circular reasoning' inside their own circles of beliefs! You see the problem readers and friends?
