In Matthew 22:21, in talking about paying taxes, Jesus taught to give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's. In Matthew 17:24-27, Jesus told Peter he would find a coin in the mouth of the first fish he caught that was to be used to pay for their Jewish temple tax.
John the Baptist also taught repentant tax collectors only to, "Collect no more than you are authorized to do" (Luke 3:13). Romans 13 affirms the importance of obeying the laws of one's culture. In all of these cases, we find ample evidence to support working within the laws of one's society to operate in a legal and ethical manner.
Some have argued against nonprofit incorporation based on 1 Corinthians 7:23 that states, "You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men."
ππ However, this verse cannot be properly applied to this topic. This passage dealt with the concept of human slavery rather than church organization.
ππ―π the benefits of incorporation include the ability to offer tax deductible giving to church members, as well as nonprofit status for the church. Some see incorporation as negative, however, thinking it limits the ability of the church to speak out on sensitive politic issues. While this could become a potential future problem, churches should not generally fear this issue. Churches have been able to speak out on all sorts of issues throughout American history and have not experienced problems with their nonprofit status

Iβve asked the Whiz Quiz to quote Bible verses in support of his 501C3 obsession but he either comes up with nothing or comes up with other verses he stretches over 501C3 and makes em fit. The TeddyBug would be so proud of himβΌοΈβΌοΈβΌοΈ

RSVP posted this worthwhile message which bears repeating.

@rsvp and dave
The two of you had left out the most important part of the Matthew 17 scripture, the complete context, which CALVANISTS are masters of.
Matthew 17 verses 25 - 27, the rest of the context.
When Peter entered the house, Jesus preempted him. βWhat do you think, Simon?β He asked. βFrom whom do the kings of the earth collect customs and taxes: from their own sons, or from others?β
26 βFrom others,β Peter answered.
βThen the sons are exempt,β Jesus declared.
27 βBut so that we may not offend them, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take the first fish you catch. When you open its mouth, you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for My tax and yours.β
In the entire context of the Matthew 17 scripture concerning paying TAXES,who are those that are exempt( TAX EXEMPTION) grom paying taxes, SONS of the STATE.
Who are those that are to pay taxes those that are strangers, not SONS of the STATE,such as BELIEVERS in Yashua Ha Maschiach.
501C3 SONS of the STATE,the Scriptures are very clear about this.
Dave, just because 501C3 is not in the Scriptures, does not mean the principle does not exit.
The name Jesus does not exist in the Hebrew Matthew Scriptures, but Yashua does, hmmmm.
Whatever you ask in my NAME, His name back then is the same today.

Whiz Quiz, weβve been through this time and again with you.
Seems. Youβve seen fit to invent your own unique form of eisegesis which you hope justifies whatever you claim as your private interpretation of scripture.
Most people who invent their own unique and bizarre forms of interpretation do so because of something in scripture they donβt accept.
Quiz, itβs time you honestly confess the trouble you have with the acceptable method of literary interpretation.
