Before you marry, understand the Bible’s explanation for the basic cause of marital conflict between husband and wife

After the honeymoon is over

Genesis 3:16 “And you will desire to control your husband,

but he will rule over you.”

This is the curse that God placed on the marriage relationship. This took place after Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command that he give them in the garden of Eden.

After the curse, the wife will now try to control her husband and he will try to push her back down.

Only a serous commitment to the glory of God can turn a bad marriage around.

The reason I posted this thread was to re-enforce a biblical reminder in preparation for any relationship

The curse has resulted in conflict in all relationships including marriage. Before the curse and before Adam and Eve disobeyed God, their relationship was harmonious. Adam loved and cared for his wife and Eve willingly submitted to Adam’s headship.

But things changed when the two yielded to Satan’s temptation.

After the seeds of temptation had been sown, Eve then took charge being fully convinced eating the forbidden fruit was really ok while Adam just stood there, let her take charge and listened to her invitation to eat the forbidden fruit and then whimsically followed suit.

Then came the curse.

Now women, like Eve, will continue to try taking charge over her husbands.

Husbands, will now either whimsically and nauseatingly go along to get along or they will go to the other extreme and forcibly demand subjection.

Sadly, these sinful tendencies will play out in nearly all relationships between the daughters of Eve and sons of Adam. Some relationships worse than others.

The only remedy is total submission to Christ. Paul teaches all about that in the book Timothy.
