Can't believe that no one has had theirs ripped out and handed to them by someone that they respected. Well,in that case, let me be the first to say, I have. In a word, I learned to pray. But after getting through the first hurt, I discovered that I then had something to share with the next person that had a spear through the chest. I love this verse, taken from the Amplified Bible: short and sweet:
And therefore the Lord earnestly waits expecting, looking,
and longing to be gracious to you;
and therefore He lifts Himself up,
that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you.
you will weep no more.
He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry;
when He hears it, He will answer you.
And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity
and the water of afflictions,
yet your Teacher will not hide Himself any more,
but your eyes will constantly behold your Teacher.
And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying,
This is the way; walk in it,
when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.
You shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept,
My heart was broken this year. I loved him like I had never loved anybody else. He was my friend for 15 years, my best friend, my confidant, the love of my life, and my soulmate...and he hurt me and then twisted the knife over and over again.
I could not eat or get out of bed yet I was in my final semester of grad school. I slept with a Bible on my chest because I was so low that I could feel a dark spirit taking my soul away.
I have no doubt that heart break can be fatal.
I thank God for a praying mother, a brother who called from 10,000 miles away, a friend who dropped everything to come over and hold a shell-shocked sister, another friend who called me every single day and an Aunt who came over and slept in my bed and cooked for me and fed me until I could cope.
That one hit me hard.
If there is anybody out there who is feeling like that, I want you to know that you are so precious and beautiful and worthy of better treatment. You are worth the Son of Gods LIFE! The wounds will get better. I also want you to know that your are not a weakling, even if you completely embarrassed yourself, you are not a weakling. God loves you and has shown you that s/he is not the person for you. Child of God, you deserve better. Your special one is on the way.
ya i had my heart broken several times.... i love like God loves i believe. Openly, fully, without myself in mind. I love like it was the first time. I try to look at her through Gods eyes. to realize that she is God daughter and that she is soooo important to him. unfortunately i cant find a good woman who will look upon me the same way
Today, if we were still married, would have been our 30th anniversary! There was a little sadness but with the HOLY SPIRIT, He's turned my mourning into JOY!!! That's why I love MERCY ME'S song, "Jesus, Bring the Rain!" For all of you with a broken heart, broken dreams, sickness or loss, start PRAISING God, even if you don't feel like it! He says He'll take our spirit of heaviness if we'll give Him the sacrifice of PRAISE!
I definitely have a broken heart. I was married for 10 years just to find out that my ex-husband was cheating on me for sometime. I guess he had been playing the good-like-Christian wife for a fool for several years, until I put parental controls on the computer for my teenager and found out the truth.
Now, I don't trust my judgment because I thought he was a good man, but I was very wrong.
I am recovering from the situation, but am really fragile, especially about second guessing how I will ever know a good man when I find one.
I guess I have to let go and let God. Thanks for comiserating.
Praising God is good and listening to Gospel music is wonderful but i believe that people need to to get right to the root of the manner. face the problem and walk with the Holy spirit to bring closer and healing. Sometimes we try to cover our hurts with the word of God and not being honest with ourselves and God.Emotional hurt is a process and time heal all things. learning how to forgive even when it's not your fault can release you from bitterness and anger and retailation. be healed in you mind and emotions. We must expose the weapons of the enemy then he cannot come in and torment. Be free in your spirit and in your mind for God has purpose for the negative and the positve to bring purpose out of difficulties. God is producing fruit. A tree must be prune at the right season to produce much fruit that is worthy of righteousness. God bless!
I am sorry to hear about it but one thing you will learn about life in earth is there is NO good person ( only God is good) but you can make a person think positive and fear God .Donot let what happen get in you because you will lose only if it get you .
There are many things that can break our hearts: divorce; child rebellion; death of a parent, child, spouse, friend; loss of good health; loss of a career/job; loved ones saying hurtful things; watching a loved one suffer from cancer or other disease; a familly member who chooses not to accept Jesus as Savior; soldiers leaving home to fight in the war; someone sexually, physically, or psychologically abused; a pastor or other church leader judging divorced people and not allowing them to serve in the church; a church leader "falling from grace" with adultery or other sin.
I KNOW FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCES THAT GOD DOES CARRY US THROUGH ALL OF OUR HEARTACHES. HE HEALS OUR BROKEN HEARTS AS WE DRAW CLOSER TO HIM.:applause:
