Well can not tell you exactly why they are. I guess it is just one of many gifts God has given us. Teachers and nurses seem to have a compassion about them and for children if they are a pediatric RN. They have a nurturing and wanting to help others ability about them. Those areas are also big areas where people are needed, not just women but men too. Hope this helps. God Bless! Classiechristian (a pediatric RN) :nicenurse:

Guess it would depend on where the people live, what they do for a living. As for my self, I think I have meet only one woman who was a christian nurse, but again I do not live in a city. But I do know why the ladies do that kind of work, they make good money being a nurse, at least they do over here.... :applause:

I happen to be one of those "Nurses", I chose this profession because I am definatley a caring, compassionate person and I truly beleive that a nurse needs those type of qualities.. Besides the fact that I am a single mother and yes, it does provide a good income too!! Blessings to all!

Statistically that profession is largely women. So if you polled other professions the number would be less.:goofball:

Another thought, I chose to go into teaching AFTER I was a single parent BECAUSE the schedule allowed me to be home with my children when they were home; one of the best decisions I ever made.

What's wrong with being a teacher or a nurse? JK!

Those professions have the most flexible schedule for single moms tho.

I am in an alternative medical profession, but I own my own business and therefore in control of my schedule. Unfortunately though the income is far less than many other single moms.

As a single mom, you need a job that is flexible because you don't have that other adult person living in your home to help out with the kids and household chores. God never meant for us to have to support the family, we are supposed to be His Helpmeets (helpers). It is supposed to be a joint effort by the husband and wife. Unfortunately today more men are bailing out on the women and leaving them to fend for themselves and their children. I'm sorry guys, but child support just doesn't cut it and is a lousy way of saying you "support" your ex and your children with her. This coming from someone who wasn't even awarded child support to help with her daughter when her husband divorced her. The best way you can support them is not to leave them in the first place. (that's where the better for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part) comes in to play. You tough it out and work at it. You forgive and forget, and continue on.

My response to this question has the potential to get in a little deeper than I would like but please remember, it's only one opinion.

First off, i've worked in both capacities through the years and compassion and nurturing sure do play a part in both professions.

On the other hand if you look at it from a psychological view, as anyone in the field of psychology, they will tell you that there is a certain element of authority and control here.

Remember, just something that i've learned and heard over the years.

Well I teach transitional kindergarten and love it. I don't know that there is a particular reason. I am good at what I do, have a musical gift and use it with them, have children leaving me who know how to be respectful, read, love to laugh and are more than ready to advance in this big world so I guess I would say that it is a calling from God. After all...good teachers help define good grown up people...right?!!
