Nice...I just realized that if you block someone it won't let them add you as a favorite. It never did that before...had to unblock and re-block some, but it worked.

I can agree with that. I would never contact someone who hasnt at least tried to fill out there profile. Even writing something brief and vague is better than just ask me or I dont know what to write here. Even if its brief it still gives you something to work off for starting a conversation, asking them to explain something, getting some idea of the importance of their faith, what theyre looking for, etc.

I have not contacted many guys, but it makes it a lot easier when there is something interesting that catches your eye and makes them stand out from the rest.

Im sure Ian is right in saying that there are women who do it tooso really your question can relate to men or women.

Seriously, thanks for sharing. What a true reminder of how great God is in his blessings - even though we may never understand why at the time, but we find out the reason later. Sounds like a blessing in disguise to me...

I'll pray for and and the guy as well. I'm very glad he told you what was going on and is now seeking the help he so desperately needs.

Wishing you many blessings in the future...

God bless,

Miranda

Lydia,

I agree it is creepy. Id like to delete about 5 of mine.

Ian,

I mainly mean people who have had you added for months and never even said hello. I think your approach sounds just fine

God bless,

Angel

It would be nice to have the choice to take off people who add you as a favorite.

Some people add you and then never say one word to you. I have no idea why...

Does a man lose brownie points based on his age restrictions?

Hi Lydia!

I totally agree with what you said.

To be more clear, I rarely ever look at women's profiles though, so I could not really make a comment about the women of this site - besides just giving the reasoning for my own age restrictions.

It's nice to see you around here again. I hope all is well!!

God bless,

Elcapitan,

I DID read your entire post the first time and I just read it again. Your post makes no sense and the scripture you use does not fulfill your reasoning. The creation process of a human life is held very highly in God's eyes.

I have never read anything in the Bible that would cause me to believe abortion is okay or that unborn babies don't have souls. Unborn babies are described frequently in the Bible as already having developed personalities.

I still stand by everything I wrote - especially about the breath of life.

Elcapitan you said It is neither a sin nor wrong to kill a living creature that does not have a soul. The key word here is KILL.

Genesis 2:28 God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

Psalms 8:6 8.8

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the sea.

As humans, we have dominion over the creatures of the earth. A fetus is not a creature as the Bible describes a creature. A human life is highly significant to God - far over that of animals or any creature. I do not believe that God gives us the authority/choice over the life or death of a human life (in terms of a fetus).

You referenced Genesis 2:7 (And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul) and you also referenced Genesis 6:17 (And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.).

God is the only one who has the breath of life not in any way, shape or form does a human have that power. That also does not grant humans the power or authority to destroy it.

You also said, There's no doubt that "breath of life" refers to the air we breathe, not a literal event that took place.

Yes, we are living, breathing things but the Bible saying the breath of life is a lot more figurative than just the fact that we breathe. God creates us in His image as it is said in Genesis 1:27 (So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.). Humans, and not any other earthly creatures, are made in the direct image and spirit of God.

I think the entire creation of a human is part of the breath of life we receive. The way you describe it IS taking it in the literal sense of the air we breathe. The way you describe it would be saying that at any point of a pregnancy (even at 9 months) an abortion would be okay because the baby is not yet breathing the air by itself but through its mother.
