Can We Make Love?
Posted : 23 Feb, 2009 08:44 AM

Why can't we just make love, not war,

What is this stupid fighting for?!

I don't give much for guts or glory,

When wars are fought for territory,

~Or oil, or some commodity~

Then we should just let others be.

I know sometimes the world will pause,

To stand their ground for some good cause,

And into darkness, headlong, tumble,

As hopes for peace so quickly crumble,

~But we send children off to fight~

For things that often are not right.

I very nearly came undone,

When it involved my first born son,

There's nothing like a mother's grief,

To change the longest held belief,

To take a stand and call for peace,

And pray for when all war shall cease.

My son, Jordan Christian, (24 yrs. old now) served in Iraq and was wounded twice. He received the Purple Heart, recovered, (physically, he still has some shrapnel in his right knee, mentally/emotionally he is dealing with a bit of P.T.S.D), and is home now (Thank God!) with my new granddaughter, and attending college full-time, with a 4.0 G.P.A. Within a few weeks after being deployed to Iraq, he had lost a dozen friends to the war. His phone calls home were excruciating for us both!

Dear Dandylion man,

You are not so far away that you have not caused me concerns about my birth date! What's up with that?? LOL

Sure 'nuff I'll pray for you, out there in the Boonies like you are! If God can rain down bread from Heaven, he can sure send a lil' bit out to your neck of the woods. -- "Heaven" I mean, not bread, lol. *wink* *wink*

Heeheeheeheehee! Thanks for the welcome!

Would You Date/Marry A Transformed Homosexual?...

~ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

~ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

~ This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Amen, Amen, and Amen.

Animals?

There don't seem to be any scriptural references concerning an afterlife for animals, but I did hear somewhere that All Dogs Go To Heaven, lol!

My Dad always said they go to the Happy Hunting Ground.

(I would think that would be Hell for the prey!!)

Yes, the best of both worlds! "You can have both you know, and it should be this way," is almost word for word what I was thinking as I read through this thread. It is cool to see one of you guys come up with that!

Comfort and excitement certainly haven't been mutually exclusive in my experience, and I wouldn't want them to be.

In the end it is really just a matter of semantics though.

Egads! Long hairs on the shower wall!!!!

I'm not really making fun...we all have our pet peeves, and some of them probably sound quite odd to others. Like mine for example. I cannot stand Styrofoam! It is squeaky and gives me chills up my spine like fingernails on a chalkboard. It creeps me out! And this transfers over to puffed wheat/rice cereal type stuff as well, cause it "squeeks" when you chew it! (does NOT include Rice Krispies, however). I also hate using cardboard boxes for storage and storing things under the bed. It encourages spiders to hide out under there, and THAT creeps me out, too.

Here I go again with too much info. and this is a MEN"S thread. Oy Vey!

Well, I can't help it. I thought that one was funny, 'cause I have long hair ~ but I do clean up after myself, lol!

Hi everyone! I've been meaning to introduce myself since I joined CDFF in early to mid December, but I just didn't manage to get it done in a timely manner. Sorry about that.

I am looking forward to meeting some really cool people here. I've already met a few ~ I hope.

Internet "dating" is soooo weird! I don't know if I am adapting very well. All I can do is be myself, but I am having a hard time with my profile. I have redone it a half a dozen times already, at least. I can't seem to find the happy medium between writing so much about myself that I fear I may sound like I'm bragging, and leaving so much out that it may look like I'm not forthcoming. It seems that way to me anyway...currently I am back to a short version.

I went on one "date" already, and it was the ONLY bad date of my life! ~ but I guess that belongs on another post, and it will take me some time to provide a written account. I am still a bit flabbergasted about it, and having a hard time even believing it happened to me. It was BIZARRE!

Anyway, you can call me Juvie. I am the mother of four off-spring, of whom I am awfully proud ~ 2 boys and 2 girls. Three of them are grown, two of them are married, one of those two (Iraqi vet, and Purple Heart recipient) has co-produced my first grandbaby girl a year ago October, and I also have one soon-to-be 6 yr. old daughter still at home. She is an absolute delight!

See...there I go!! LOL!

My profile says I am seeking a marriage partner, but I love to meet people and make friends, so feel free to send me a message if you just want to chat.

:waving:
