Hello dear women, ๐ my name is Stephen Rogers. I hope you find your missing half soon! Being single is tough. xD
First I have great news: Jesus loves us so much that He died for our sins and rose from the dead 3 days later. We only need to believe in Him to go to heaven. ๐
(I speak Spanish, Portuguese, and some Russian.)
_____________
Hello my darling โค๏ธ, Iโve dreamed of you my whole life: a woman who loves God, others, and the Bible above all else.
You are a true lady, elegant and sophisticated. ๐ You are the delight of my eyes.
You are the sweet and passionate Shulamite, and I am your adoring Solomon. ๐
You are a true daughter of Sarah. It's an honor to be your husband.
I long to hold you in my arms, run my fingers through your hair, and stare into your eyes as we cuddle.
I long to dance with you, to hold your hand, to know you deeply. ๐
Will you join me on the adventure of a lifetime?
๐ก๏ธ Let's be courageous soldiers in the Lord's army and share the gospel with anyone He puts in our path.
Let's entrust ourselves and our kids to God and accept any suffering He sends.
Let's take care of each other, life is hard. ๐ฅด I'll never get tired of saying 'thank you' & 'I love you.' ๐ฅฐ
๐ Let's read the Bible, pray, and have fun spiritual talks.
Let's pursue truth in love, humbly helping each other with our blind spots while ignoring the small stuff and focusing on the good.
Letโs stay thin and healthy and not go one day without making love. ๐
We will have a wonderful marriage, baby.๐น The Song of Solomon, Ephesians 5:22-26, and 1 Corinthians 7:3-4 will be our inspiration.
_____________
About me:
I'm an outgoing person for sure. When I'm in a group, I like making people laugh. But my favorite thing in the world is a deep one-on-one talk. ๐
I'm very tender-hearted and actually love talking about feelings. xD And I cry at pretty much every movie so you might want to keep a tissue handy haha.
I communicate very openly and sincerely and love to compliment and encourage.
My biggest love languages are quality time and physical touch.
Iโm very playful. I like to make jokes (always positive), laugh at mistakes, and enjoy the little things.
On a typical day, you can find me reading, ๐ watching basketball, football or movies, ๐ฌ learning a language, playing basketball, ๐ or planning my next trip. โ๏ธ
I'm good at fixing things, so you won't have to worry about problems with our house. ๐ ๏ธ ๐ค
I'm very clean and organized. ๐งฉ I like to make my bed as soon as I get up and keep my inbox under 10 emails. ;D
Iโm a night person and typically spend a lot of time at home. While I donโt have a lot of physical energy, I have limitless stamina for long talks and cuddles. ๐
I enjoy classy. ๐ฉ I like dressing up but rarely have the opportunity. Iโm looking forward to our weekly date night. ๐ฅฐ
_____________
My Christian background:
I've felt God's hand on me for as long as I can remember. My dad led me to believe in Jesus when I was 4 years old.
I've always wanted to help people, share the gospel, and teach the Bible. My dad calls me a pastor to the world. The first time I shared the gospel was with my Mormon friend when I was eight.
I love studying the Bible and read through it once per year. It's so exciting when something new sticks out to me.
Sometimes God feels far away and it's hard for me to read and pray. When that happens, I usually read anyway and try to pray like David in Psalm 69.
I want to be like Jesus more than anything, but sometimes I feel like a failure. My big weakness is that I tend to overthink things and assume the worst. ๐ฌ I also worry too much about what people think.
Some of the values I'm most passionate about are:
Truth - I always tell the truth and work hard to do it lovingly. I think even 'white' lies do far more harm than we realize. I became kind of obsessed with avoiding lying when I was 9 years old. It's a funny story actually, my dad was about to discipline me for lying. But before he did, I completely repented and avoided the discipline. ๐
One of my favorite verses about truth is Job 27:3-4: โFor as long as life is in me, and the breath of God is in my nostrils, my lips certainly will not speak unjustly, nor will my tongue speak lies.โ
Another is Proverbs 27:6: "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy."
Courage - I strive to do the right thing even when I'm afraid.
My favorite verse about courage is Job 1:21-22: "Job said, 'Naked I came from my motherโs womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.' In all this, Job did not sin nor did he blame God."
Humility - I really care when I hurt someone and immediately ask for forgiveness when I sin.
One of my favorites about humility is Ephesians 4:1-2: "Therefore, I urge you, I, the prisoner in the Lord, to walk in a way that is worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all humility and gentleness, patiently forbearing one another in love."

๐ผ My work
I have three jobs:
1. I work as a church capital fundraising consultant with my dad. We co-own a business called Abundant Giving. โช
In addition to consulting, my role is to manage our website, edit any videos we upload, and edit the program manuals that my dad wrote. I'm not a good writer but I'm a very good editor. ๐ค
2. I teach English as a second language online on a site called italki. ๐
I've met tons of interesting people from all over the world and learned a lot in the process. And I've had many opportunities to share the gospel.
3. I counsel and disciple people. ๐
God gave me a pretty good ability to evaluate people. I love when people share their pain with me because I feel connected to them and have the opportunity to encourage them.
I'd like to share some of the kind things I've been told over the years: A man I've discipled for the past 4 years said, "Iโve never once felt like you were judging me. Talking to you is like talking to a best friend."
I think some of the reasons I've been able to help are:
1. A deep capacity to empathize. โค๏ธ Sometimes it's too deep haha. I've often found that the best thing I can do is just listen and 'cry with those who cry'.
2. A non-judgmental attitude. Iโve frequently had the same struggles as those I help.
3. I think outside of the box and avoid cliches when I share advice. I take what I've learned from the Bible, my dad, other reliable sources, and then apply it where relevant.
4. I apply what Iโve learned to myself first. I seem to have an endless supply of weaknesses because every time I overcome one, I immediately become aware of another. ๐๐
_____________
๐ Some of my goals:
I'd like to have one of the greatest romances of all time. ๐ฉโโค๏ธโ๐จ May our love to be so passionate that heaven takes notice. ๐
I want to be a dad. And I'd like to homeschool our kids. ๐ก
I would love to pastor a house church someday. I can't wait to teach you and the kids at least.
_____________
Some of my passions:
Deep conversations๐ก
It's so fun to connect!
Movies ๐ฌ
I love movies, especially inspirational ones. Watching a character persevere encourages me to keep going when Iโm having a hard time.
Some of my favorites are; Lord of the Rings, The Family Man, Braveheart, Sense and Sensibility, Seabiscuit, The King's Speech, and Harry Potter. Tv shows: Psych (seasons 1-5), Monk, Andy Griffith
I also love movie music. Hans Zimmer and John Williams are two of my favorite composers.
Reading ๐
I like reading biographies about inspiring Christians, especially those of John Newton and William Wilberforce. I just finished one about Eric Liddell. He was a great missionary and a truly loving person.
I also like reading about history. I'm reading about Adolf Hitler at the moment.
A couple of my favorite fiction books are The Hobbit and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm currently reading the Sherlock Holmes series.
Sports ๐
I'm a big fan of watching American football and basketball.
I also like playing basketball and have often played once per week. I don't dribble well and I'm a little slow, but I can shoot! ๐ฏ
Languages ๐ฆ
I love learning new languages. Currently I'm studying Russian.
Travelling ๐บ๏ธ
It's so exciting to move to a new place and use a new language. I've spent 8 years living abroad, mostly in Mexico. I've also lived in Portugal, Guatemala, Chile, Panama, Ukraine, Costa Rica, and Georgia.
_____________
๐๏ธ A bit more about me:
I currently live in Guadalajara, Mexico, but work remotely, so travelling or moving immediately is not a problem. โบ๏ธ
I'm from Denver, Colorado and have lived in Washington state, northern New York, Kansas, Florida, Illinois, and Connecticut. My family moved a lot so I had the opportunity to visit 44 states.
๐ Countries I've been to include; Peru, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Chile, Panama, Mexico, Guatemala, Portugal, Ukraine, Georgia.
๐ I'm a big conservative and Trump fan. I'm amazed that he talks so openly about God. I've never seen a president do that. The world finally has a leader who fights for Christian values and religious freedom!
I also love Charlie Kirk. He was a true warrior for Jesus.
I have fibromyalgia which is a chronic condition that causes muscle pain, fatigue and depression. Suffering is part of the sanctification process unfortunately haha.
I'm part of a small house church that my dad leads. I choose the songs we sing and lead us in prayer.
_____________
My educational background:
I studied Biblical Exposition at Moody Bible Institute. โ๏ธ Biblical exposition is the process of discovering the authorโs intended meaning of the text and applying it to life today.
These days I do a lot of self study.
My dad has been the greatest source of learning in my life. Heโs the godliest person Iโve ever met. We're best friends and have spent thousands of hours talking over the years. He's taught me extensively about the Bible, leadership, parenting, marriage, biblical interpretation, psychology, counseling, and discipleship.
He's an extremely intelligent, well educated scholar. ๐ He went to Dallas Theological Seminary, has a doctorate in ministry, has written books, been a motivational speaker, started businesses, and planted and pastored several churches for more than 20 years.
Interpreting the Bible accurately is extremely important to me. I'd describe my interpretation process as literal and consistent. I try my best to be disciplined and not let emotion or pressure affect my conclusions. But I'm always open to new evidence and some of my views have changed over the years.
When I was a teenager, I remember asking my dad how it was possible to confidently share your views when you know it's inevitable you'll be wrong sometimes. ๐ค He said he asked the same question to a professor in seminary who told him the key was to do it humbly.
Here are some of my current theological views:
1. Dispensationalism
2. Complementarianism
3. Premillennialism
4. Cessationism
5. Eternal security. (Romans 8)
6. Faithfulness is optional. (James 1:12, Galatians 6:9)
7. The gospel teaches that only faith is required for salvation. Feeling sad about your sin, or making a commitment to follow Jesus, is not required. (John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9)
The Greek word metanoia (ฮผฮตฯฮฌฮฝฮฟฮนฮฑ), was incorrectly translated as โrepentanceโ in passages like Mark 1:15. It means โa change of mind.โ
_____________
My previous relationships: ๐
I've had two girlfriends. The first was when I was 17 and in high school. We dated for 5 months before I broke up with her. She wasn't ready to open up emotionally like I was. She's still the only woman I've ever kissed.
I met my second girlfriend online when I was 23. We dated for 3 weeks. She was from Brazil and a great girl in many ways. We never met in person. I was going to travel to Brazil to meet her but, before I could, I realized we weren't compatible and I ended it.
I learned a couple important things:
1. It's important to take things slow.
2. I need someone very sweet and intelligent.
I'm a virgin (it's okay if you're not). Looking forward to our wedding night ๐ฅฐ
