I'm laid back, witty and love to tease and be teased. I laugh hardest at myself. I'm serious about my walk with Christ, and I believe Christians should realize they're on a lifelong mission of serve to their King. Sometimes their King requires that they suffer. Christianity isn't as buttoned down as a movie like "Fireproof," where if you just do the right things, it's all great in the end on this Earth. If you don't believe that, read "Foxe's Book of Martyrs." Or the Bible.
I'm theologically Reformed, which means I believe in the doctrines of grace as they relate to salvation. I'm continually being sanctified -- it's a lifelong process. I'm probably more evangelistic than most Christians I've met, and am willing to share the gospel when I get the opportunity. I also like to distribute gospel literature and DVDs. My favorite teachers and ministries include R.C. Sproul, John MacArthur, Alistair Begg and Robert Godfrey, and Grace to You, Ligonier, and Truth for Life. It's hard for me to choose one Bible passage that is most important to me, because there are so many. Hebrews 1 comes to mind, because it proclaims the supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I'm an avid hiker and have a goal to resign from my full-time job in April 2023 and attempt a thru-hike of the 2,178-mile Appalachian Trail (AT). I typically take three major hiking vacations a year, and I also travel to Texas to visit friends, to Chicago or Cleveland to watch major league baseball, and to Orlando for the Ligonier Ministries National Conference. I enjoy road trips in my Lexus SC430 convertible.
I'm a licensed broker and work in compliance for a major financial services firm. I investigate complaints and respond to clients. I'd explain more, but I typically get the "deer in the headlights" look when I talk about my job. I very much enjoy my job (usually), but my dream "job" is thru hiking!
