I have been separated for a while now. I fought hard for my marriage, but multiple times I was cheated on, lied to, and manipulated and finally abandoned. I'm excited about what God has in store. I'm hoping to find someone I can start to get to know as a friend and see where it goes from there. I am NOT looking for a rebound or a replacement, etc. I want to find that one person God has for me to spend the rest of my life with. I do have two girls (both under age of 6) who I have most of the time.
Who am I? I am a Christian first and foremost. It defines my life and even now, despite everything I have been through, my faith has been what I have leaned on to get me through.
I'm also an idealistic realist. Which simply put means I know what the world and people are really like but that doesn't keep me from dreaming big dreams, looking for the best in people and trying to help people become the best they can be, and working to make the world a better place. Best analogy would be I always wanted to be a knight (chivalry is not dead!)... the Arthurian Knights of the Round Table kind... but I know historically that time period was brutal and knights could be more rogue than chivalrous. Doesn't keep me from wanting to be the Arthurian knight though :).
I'm an athlete. I stay in shape. I'm not some super muscular guy, but I work out and play on basketball and flag football teams. Don't have time for the gym, but it's amazing what you can do with dumbbells, an elliptical, pushups/situps, and self-motivation.
I'm smart; can be very goofy at times; love to laugh and smile; hard working; not afraid to be emotional with the right person; loving and affectionate; try my hardest to be as unselfish as possible; compassionate and giving; and not afraid of responsibility. I take care of my girls and do things with them as much as possible, clean the house, cook (I was the primary cook even before), do my own yardwork, laundry, dishes, and on top of my own job which can keep me very busy.
What I'm not: handyman (though I try!); terrible with trying to make ponytails and do other things with my girls' hair; beach bum (I enjoy the beach, but outside my face & arms, I do not tan; I burn, turn red then turn white again... blame it on my Irish blood); and finally a mind-reader... I can't read minds, though I would love to, so when you're feeling down or I've done something to upset/hurt you and need to talk and I'm being an idiot and not picking up on things, just tell me. I promise I will listen.
What I'm looking for: someone who isn't afraid to be affectionate; someone who will be unselfish and love me as hard as I will love her; someone who will not lie, cheat, or manipulate; someone not afraid to talk about what they are feeling (communication is key!); someone with healthy ambition (for life in general); someone who doesn't just always want adventure but enjoys the quiet times just sitting on the porch talking about life or whatever; someone who wants to grow with me on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level; and finally someone with a strong faith who's not afraid to show it.
