About Me
***CURRENTLY TALKING TO A VERY SPECIAL GIRL ON THIS SITE/SORRY THAT I DO NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGES/THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST AND GOD BLESS YOUR SEARCH***

Hello, my name is Jacob, but I go by Jake. I typically spend my time doing Bible study (I'm on my third study of Revelation, one of my favorites!), reading and researching (history and cultures mostly) and doing art (drawing, writing, modeling/rigging/animating/etc. in 2D and 3D software), and generally putting off doing work on my house until "tomorrow." Someday I'll revitalize that pond... someday... On my down time I enjoy some movies and TV (sooo much drivel and yuck out there) and video games, though it's been some time since I really played anything. I really like hiking and jogging, and I tolerate lifting weights. I'm a wretched fisherman, but I have fun nonetheless. I also enjoy camping, but it's been years since the last time I went.

As for my background, I grew up as the youngest of five in a military surplus salvage yard, raised by guard dogs and rattlesnakes, or so the legend goes. In a bid to gain my freedom, I joined the Army. Ah, the fabled US Cavalry! Much to my chagrin I learned that the horses had been replaced with Strykers, and the patrol caps had been replaced by berets! I had already signed the contract though, and as a man of my word I did a couple deployments to Iraq and met a lot of great people. After four years I found myself yearning for more liberty than Army life allowed though. So, after my enlistment was up, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Media Arts and Animation. Combat to cartoons seemed a logical leap at the time. I also decided to try my hand as a small scale real estate investor in order to free myself up to suffer for my art... it really is quite terrible ;) The main idea being to buy, renovate, rent, refinance and repeat (what's known as the BRRRR strategy). I'm at the renovate stage right now, and the place could use a woman's touch to say the least lol

Art-wise, my long term goal is for all my stories, drawings and research to coalesce into an indie game... or seven! Yes, at LEAST seven, or so the outlines I've built says. Once my brother gets out of the Army, we're considering making a proper studio with some friends. I also want to make a comic series too... but maybe some novels first... and possibly a tie-in movie...? With Chris Hemsworth as the leading man! **Sigh** Maybe I'll just try to finish one project first (Da Vinci syndrome).

Romance-wise, I'm holding out for my Christian bride and look forward to loving and nurturing her as much as Christ loves His Church (Ephesians 5:25). Maybe we'll start a mini-farm and ranch in Vail, raise tilapia and younglings, and sell our harvest at the local farmer's market on lazy weekends to interesting snowbirds from far away lands... **Sigh** A man can dream... but in the interim it gives me time to prepare a place for her, and to ensure that I'm my dream girl's (Proverbs 31) dream guy (1 Timothy 3, just replace “Bishop” and “Deacon” with husband).

Anyway, that's a bit (probably too much, ugh/lol) about me. I'd love to hear about you! Feel free to message me if you're interested in trying some new things in the area. If you’re not in the area/international, I’m very open to chatting as well. It’d be interesting to see how the sisters and brethren are doing around the world! Maranatha!
First Date
I think maybe something more relaxed and casual, like a hike and a lunch date so that we can get to know each other a bit easier without all the pressures of an evening date. Or maybe a trip to the zoo or a museum? I haven't been to either since college. In any case, I'm always open to suggestions. And I promise, I listen much more than I type ;)
