Hi and thanks for reading my profile.
I am a widower that is ready for the next chapter of my life with a new companion.
As a person I like to think of myself as confident but not overly. I don't have the interest in or the energy for mindless, serial dating... it's just not satisfying or fulfilling...in fact, it's tedious. I would prefer to make a good friend or, better yet, a great one. Yes, I will be looking for a long term possibility...I don't typically feel lonely but being alone has its drawbacks. Not looking for perfection...that would be tilting at windmills, not to mention the fact that I can't offer it myself. Basically, I would like to find one of those great relationships, but I don't believe it can be forced.
I am not going to try to give a list of "must haves" of the person I hope to find. It seems ludicrous to think that anyone will have the qualities that will coincide with the qualifications we think we want. Generally, in the real world, people are very different from our "perceived requirements" and if it is the right person, we work things around the person and not the list. Things just automatically unfold with little to no thought about what we think we had on "that list". I think when we meet that special person, we just know. It isn't always about the things we have in common, it is a feeling. An ideal long-term relationship is easy to maintain because we want to make it work, it involves lively discussions, engages our friends and family around us, contains laughter and a mutual pursuit of our passions.I guess if you have gotten this far, my photos have passed the visual check and now we need to hope our personalities will mesh.
GOALS: Looking to find a way to enjoy what is and someone to enjoy it with. . At what capacity, I'm not sure yet but I'm open to exploring many ideas. I don't think we always find love around the corner, sometimes it might be some distance away. But if it is the right person, things usually seem to be workable. Love seems to know no boundaries. I really want to find a man to love and share in the beauty that is life. I also want to continue to help those around me and for whom I care about to achieve their goals. My most important goal for 2023 is to hopefully find that special someone that will be person I have hoped for and will make that "magical connection" come true
