- About Me
So you're a Christian. You have been forgiven of our sins. Great! But there's more.
Not only this, but also you have been declared righteous!
Not only this, but also you have been reconciled to God!
Not only this, but also you have been called children of God!
Not only this, but also you are co-heirs with Christ!
Not only this, but also you are being made like Christ!
If you can't tell, I'm passionate about the gospel and the Lord.
I've been a follower of Christ for a long time (over half my life), but have grown the most in the last 3-4 years; I am at a place where I feel settled in my life; I cultivate peace (or try to). While I am still up for adventure, I don't do drama (for drama's sake). I rarely talk politics, not because government is unimportant but because government does not have the answers mankind seeks.
In reality, I'm just an ordinary guy who really loves Christ and wants to see everyone possible come to know His love and grace, to quit striving to be "good enough." There is something radically life-changing about the Gospel, and I want to share it with as many people as possible!
If you are interested, I am an "Advocate" (INFJ-A) personality. For you fans of the Enneagram, I'm a 5w6
I am not one to get into endless debates, but there are fundamental truths that are deeply important to me. If you are one who identifies first with a particular denomination rather than the name of Christ, then we likely will end up clashing. If the idea of someone encouraging you to revisit your perspectives on things bothers you, we likely will end up clashing. If you seek His truth above all else, including your own thoughts and perceptions, then we just might get along well.
WHO I'M LOOKING FOR
I do have things that draw me more to a person. Those things involve the heart and personality far more than outward appearance. While many talk of 'chemistry,' true chemistry starts with a connection that goes deeper than the physical. If I am attracted to your heart and personality, chances are good that I will be attracted to you physically. The problem is that many of us in the church start with the physical, and that's not the way of the Lord (1 Sam. 16:7).
These are the top three things:
A sense of humor is a real key. I try not to take myself or life too seriously (yes I do laugh at myself). If we can laugh together, even in the midst of difficulties, that says a lot.
A heart of compassion and service to others. I have been called to minister to and serve others, and the support of one wich a similar heart/calling allows us to support each other, grow together and serve together.
A heart set on seeking His will above all else. No matter what happens, we find the most peace when we set ourselves to seek, know, and obey His will. This requires engaging with the Scriptures and engaging with the Holy Spirit as He searches our hearts and speaks into our lives.
Notice I said nothing about "salvation" or "the authority of Scripture." Those are assumed by me. The greatest commandment is that we love God love others, and we cannot fulfill that commandment if we are not born again and are not committed to the authority of Scripture in our lives.
Still, what I've said leaves room for discussion. That's the point of all this, isn't it? To get to know someone? Then let's begin.
Though I do not see you, I know some of your characteristics. You are one who loves Christ ans has been transformed by Him. You have been "gracefully broken" by Him and surrendered to His will. Not perfect, but devoted. You know what it is to see a vision from the mountaintop and struggle to see Him in the valley. And you know He has more out there for you.
