About Me
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met."

Matthew 6:33 The Message Bible

God Does Not Promise Us a Mate

If you're one of the vast majority who think that God has a 'master plan for your life', and that part of that plan is a 'perfect match/soul mate'...then please read on.

There is NO PLACE in scripture where God promises to bring you the 'perfect' mate when He's ready to. If fact, He never promises us a mate...'PERIOD'.

This is what Jesus promised us IF we put the Kingdom first:

"Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:31-33

We have "Free Will", and just as Adam and Eve had the choice to make good and bad decisions...we do too! So many of us who are divorced thought that when they married their X, it was God's will for us, and that God brought that person into our lives at just the right time. Sadly we found out later that they choose to be unfaithful, or to abandon us.

Was that part of God's plan for us too? I don't think so.

Often, we want God to give us specific answers...where to work, where to live, whom to marry, what car to buy, etc. God allows us to make choices, and, if we are yielded to Him, He has ways of preventing wrong choices (Acts 16:6–7).

If we are walking closely with the Lord and truly desiring His will for our lives, God will place His desires in our hearts. The key is wanting God’s will, not our own. “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
