I love reading, for learning and entertainment. Favourite authors: C.S. Lewis and Jane Austen, but J.R.R. Tolkien, Valerie Comer, Elizabeth Maddrey, and Hanna Sandvig need a mention as well. Favourite Bible teachers: Francis Chan, Priscilla Shirer, Kyle Idleman, Mark Batterson, and Jennie Allen. Favourite books of the Bible: Ruth, Esther, Proverbs, and Phillippians (though the whole New Testament is awesome and it's hard to pick favourites at all).
I collect books about parenting, Christian living, general life, and travel, then hope to have space on my shelves for them and time to read them all! I enjoy learning from documentaries and appreciate family-friendly shows and movies. I also like sci-fi (mainly Star Trek) and goofy comedy (like Monty Python). My dream for travelling would be missions-oriented vacations (and if that's not a real thing, it should be).
My hobbies include building puzzles (regular jigsaw or 3D), listening to music, and watching a bit of TV/movies (but not so much that I run out of time to read!). Sometimes I finger knit or finger crochet to have something else to do with my hands, but I'm not overly into crafts and making things myself. I can bake muffins and make simple meals my kids like, but I'd rather be reading or chatting or going for a walk/hike than spend time in the kitchen!
I believe that the mind is more important than the appearance. I want to be known and valued most for my brains! As Hedy Lamarr said, "The brains of people are more interesting than the looks."
I'm looking for someone who puts God first in practical ways, looks for opportunities to serve others, and values the church family locally and globally.
