Hello, and thanks for stopping by! A little about me: I’m the sole English teacher in a small rural high school. I teach 9-12th grades as well as some electives. It’s a big job, but I love the variety and challenge. It’s my students’ goal to get me married off before they graduate, so here I am. (Kidding… That IS their goal, but it’s certainly not the primary reason I’m here.) Aside from teaching, one of my great joys in life is improving my home, which I bought five years ago. I also love taking long walks in the country with my dog, writing, and studying the Word. I love to serve the body of Christ by leading studies, working in my church resource center, providing meals for others, and practicing hospitality in the home the Lord has given me.
Although I grew up in the church, I’ve really only been a believer for about seven years. While I’d made a profession of faith as a child, my life did not show the fruit that comes out of a transformed heart. God ultimately used my abandonment by my ex-husband to humble and save me. Since then, I’ve been amazed at how God has grown me and conformed me to the image of his Son. I’m astonished and so grateful to be able to say that I’m nowhere near the same person I was seven years ago, or one year ago, or even just a few months ago.
My ideal man is someone who seeks to glorify the Lord in all he does every day of the week, not just on Sundays. I’m not looking for someone who has “arrived” yet (none of us has this side of heaven) but rather for someone who is growing and who seeks opportunities to learn and be discipled by other men. I want someone who will love Christ first and me second, who will lead me wisely and lovingly, who works hard at whatever it is that the Lord has for him to do, and who truly loves the church.
