What is important is that you are a believer and hopefully already attending a Christian church. Hard pass on all the name it and claim it and blab it and grab it theology or a part of a church that uses another book besides the Bible as far as scripture goes (not speaking of commentaries but any other books people claim as scripture but clearly are not) I don't believe being "slain in the spirit" is from God nor flopping around on the floor (That is just being caught up in emotion) or speaking in "tongues" without an interpreter like it says in Corinthians (It clearly says that's a no no) Also I've never 100% gelled with Calvinism or Arminianism. Freewill vs Predestined (I know this is only a small part of that topic) I believe we as believers had a choice to answer the call of Jesus and GOD who is God and all knowing and all powerful knew who would answer. I know that doesn't sit well with some and yes I've watched the debate videos and listened to both sides and neither sounds right to me. If we didn't have a choice we would just be robots without freewill. So like in Romans 8 I find that I was a part of His plan but in my heart of hearts I know it's because He knew I would say yes. If the choice was made for us ahead of time there wouldn't be a reason for the gospel but I'm sure you've heard John 3:16 God loves everyone enough to do what He did in our place so if He had plans on only offering salvation to a chosen few it would say so but it doesn't. It was when I heard His word and knew the King was calling that I chose to say yes to Jesus. I like the KJV and have one but ESV is good and I use that as well and if you use an NIV that's ok I started with one of those. There are, however, a couple "Bible versions" which change the meaning of a ton of scripture. I have Christian friends in different denominations and it's ok to not agree on non essentials but the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit these three are one. Jesus is the Lord.
In the book of John
In the beginning was b the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
and then in verse 14
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth
I believe in Jesus and like to attend church regularly. Love to see waterfalls, the ocean, and camping in the mountains and playing the guitar (not that skillfully though). I've been a believer for a long time and I still like secular music like classic rock and watching Marvel movies and things like Lord of the Rings. If it is something that is really a personal conviction and not clearly stated in the Word such as telling people what movies believers can watch or what music is ok then I don't buy into it (just tell those who want to be Holy Spirit Jr to read Colossians 2.). It's simple just have your own relationship with the Lord. I rarely drink and don't smoke cigarettes but I do partake 🍃 for medicinal reasons. Tattoos are ok 👍 I have them too (if you're against them don't quote old testament levitical law to me as I am not under that law and there is nothing in the new testament forbidding them). I only state all this here as those things are a point of contention for some believers. Send me a message if you wanna say hi unless you are married, in a relationship or if you are not somewhere in the USA.
