I am looking for a committed long term relationship (marriage) with a woman who is compatible with me and who wants to be with me and do things together - including Church, prayer, and Bible reading/study. I desire a marriage with unity; peace and harmony too. That is not hoping for too much is it? (I have been divorced for over 10 years now.) I am not looking for a bunch of pen pals (with no dates), though with this type of organization, pen pal is usually the starting point. I am organized & detailed, a planner. I get things done. I love creation and enjoy Lake Superior, fires on the beach, and the seasons. I am a distance runner. I am not a status-quo Christian; I am a Grace believer and a Berean - searching the Scriptures. I enjoy Bible study and research that harmonizes Scripture, rightly divided (II Tim. 2:15), striving for the unity of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4:3). I have a mind-set to defend what I believe theologically from the written Word of God. I believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, and I call a spade, a spade! (My testimony is listed below.) I am a survival artist (have to be, living Up North!). My temperament is ISTJ (the last time I was tested, anyway). In the years to come, I hope to continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of God, to continue to find harmony in Scripture through personal study of God's Word, to continue to grow spiritually, to reach a point of financial stability, to keep working in the community, to stay healthy and to still be enjoying the gift of life and God's awesome creation - which I am a part of! To me, being a Christian means: Having a personal, saving faith in the finished work of Christ on Calvary (virgin birth, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection - fundamentals of the Christian faith). This is a person who loves God - as He first loved us - one who lives a life of obedience to God, and seeks to reflect Christ-likeness in living out his/her Christian faith. My practical life challenge is to become more mature by living a life of faith based upon the written Word of God. My favorite Bible passage - my theme verse - is I Thessalonians 4:11 "That you aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you" (NKJV). This verse is from the inspired pen of Paul to the Body of Christ (the Thessalonian Christians and me!) and it directs me on how to conduct the affairs of my life, things that will please God.
