I'm looking for someone who loves Jesus from the heart and sincerely desires to follow Him wherever He leads. And who has compassion for the lost / hurting and desires to reach them with the hope and love of Christ.
The Christian walk is ultimately about learning what it means to deny self, pick up the cross, and follow Jesus in every area of life (Matt. 16:24). It's about seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting He will add anything else that's needed along the way (Matt. 6:33). He's the full and total source of joy in life - everything else is temporary.
The ultimate goal is to be conformed to the image of the Son (Romans 8:29) and the journey doesn't end until we are made like him when we see him as he is (1 John 3:2).
- Psalm 37:4 - Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
- Psalm 16:11 - You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
- Titus 2:11-14 - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
The main goal in life: To live getting to know the One Creator and Redeemer, walking in total surrender and devotion to him. This is a life-long endeavour!
Imminent goal: Be part of the labour force that brings in the harvest in these last days as this world winds down and the Lord's return draws near.
Final thoughts: "What we do in life, echoes in eternity" (Gladiator) - Maximus didn't know how right he was.
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:8)
