Who am I?
My name is David Solomon Hooker (22 years old). I was born and raised in Texas. I come from a family of five, and I’m the middle child. I grew up in a dysfunctional family, and although we had some rough times, we also had some good ones. I’ve never really been close to my parents on an emotional level. My siblings and I used to be close before they drifted away and became more attached to others than me.
Currently, I’m unemployed, still live with my parents, have no driver’s license or car, and no state ID, no friends, but I do have a passion, not only to be an inspirational speaker but to help those in need physically, emotionally, and mentally. I also write inspirational quotes and life advice. I do one day want to make my own book with all my quotes.
I always dreamed of having a lot of things, like being financially stable, having my own place, being married, being close with my family, having some friends to help me help others, and building a community and an organization to help those struggling. I realized, though, that before any of those desires, God should come first in my life. Without God, I would not have had the hope or strength to make it through. I believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and I’m a Christian. I’m not someone who thinks I’m perfect or someone who tries to control anyone. I just hope people open their minds and understand God. I will always seek to bring others to God so that they can be reborn and get on the right track of life.
When it comes to my life journey, I feel like I will be able to fulfill it with the help of God and those who love me. Anyone who reads this, I thank you so much for actually taking the time to understand me as a person. When I look at myself, I realize that I’m not only a man; I’m not only black; I’m not only a human; but I’m fearfully and wonderfully made by a good God, and that means more than any characteristic I have. I choose not to see color, I choose not to see money, and I choose not to see the body but the heart. I appreciate my body and respect the bodies of others, but I don’t see superiority because of genetics, social status, or money. In my eyes, I’m just as human as a person who has nothing. I’m worth the same as a person who has lost everything.
I will do anything I can to follow the example left by our Lord and Savior.
I will also strive to be the best I can be
That’s who I am :) never be ashamed to be who you truly are. My imperfections, shortcomings, and struggles remind me why I need God more than myself. Love me in my imperfect truth, Not my perfect lie and I’ll do the same ✨💕.
