Please note: Seeking ages 35-42, ideally, and nobody located in RI or MA.
Firstly, if you're even remotely liberal we're not a match. My tolerance level for the loony left has dropped to zero. I describe myself as a conservative libertarian, but I've found I don't have a drop of leftist blood in me. In truth, I feel I was born about 75 years too late; I think I would've fit right in during the '40s and '50s.
Got a MAGA hat? We're good.
Secondly, while you certainly don't need to be a triathlete, I do put a premium on health. As we get older, it becomes more and more important to take care of ourselves and besides, you ARE happier when you're in good condition. I also want someone who can keep up with me; I'm looking for someone a bit younger because they tend to be more active and can keep me on my toes. When I travel, I hike, bike, kayak, climb, etc. While I wouldn't mind a relaxing vacation somewhere (I'm not big on heat or beaches but I'll try anything), I'd like to have someone with me who can keep up while I climb the fjords or Alps! But don't worry, no ropes and cables for rock climbing; I'm just talking about steep hikes.
If your idea of a perfect day is binge-watching something on the couch when it's perfectly nice outside, we're probably not a good match. I don't even want screens on at all unless it's dark out.
I'm passionate about classic film and literature; you don't need to be into the latter but it would help if you're at least willing to watch classic film, as I don't really watch anything new (though I will occasionally if you want to). The beauty and style of classic movies are just special to me, and reflects a society I wish I'd been part of.
I like to do puzzles to ease my eyes and mind; crossword, jigsaw, and models/kits. I've done adult paint by number as well. It's a nice little zen way to keep my occupied and away from screens (I work on a computer from home).
I'm a neat, tidy person; I don't like slobs and messes. Not that I'm OCD about it, but I believe in folding the laundry and putting it away when it's done, and I believe in not leaving dirty dishes in the sink. Things like that.
I'm a writer at heart. I've written a book I know will never sell but it remains a lifelong goal to get a novel published. You'll have to bear with me on that; it's a long and soul-sucking journey of constant rejection. But I'm used to it by now. ;)
I do believe in a higher power - God - but it's a complicated relationship. Religious women appeal to me because they tend to be NORMAL; they tend to hold the same values I do. I don't really attend church but if you do I'd never stop you, and maybe I'd join you as well. Who knows? I've learned to discount nothing in life.
