In short, I'm a man after God's own heart. I haven't always been this way. Ive spent my whole life knowing about Jesus and what he did but there was so much I didn't understand about life and salvation in general until I got out into the world and spent some time messing up. For example, a man that always keeps a clean house never thinks about why its important to keep it clean, he just does it. The same is true with salvation. If you came up accepting Jesus from childhood like I did, its just what you do. I didn't understand how precious that the cleansing blood of Jesus was until I went out and allowed myself to be covered in the filth of the world. When you're safe, you dont think about salvation. In fact, you almost take it for granted. Its not until you realize how badly you need a savior that you can truly appreciate salvation. That's whats happened to me at 30. I have daily hurdles to overcome but the realization of that made me understand the meaning of "my walk with God" which is a term I grew up hearing my whole life. I am currently not plugged into a church which is one of the first questions people usually ask. Im not against church. I just want the right church and have not found it. Ive been to many churches that in the times we live in, have abandoned solid biblical teaching and have started veering off into almost new age theology. I find less and less hard preaching which is what the world needs but is seldom heard because church administration's are being pushed to preach certain agenda's in order to be left alone by state and federal governments. I realized by God's grace that I cant just go along to get along so I refuse to attend a church that is willing to compromise their integrity by doing just that. Im looking for that little non-denominational church with a small congregation where fellowship is real and the word is preached the way Jesus intended it to be. Until that time, I will maintain my fellowship via telephone, text, and in small groups with those believers that I know are firmly rooted in their faith and choose to walk upright.
As for what I do and what I like... well, I turn wrenches for a living. I work as a machine repairman for a small company in the Quad City area. The type of stuff I do for work carries over into my off hours interests. I enjoy building, repurposing, and repairing things at home too. Aside from my hobby of being an all-around handyman and craftsman of sorts, I love the outdoors and a variety of activities out there. Fishing is my favorire thing to do. I also enjoy music. Not like I once did because music was part of what ensnared me and led me down the wrong road in life. I still play my guitar. Mainly just instrumental stuff I make up. I dont really watch TV. There's just nothing on there that's really good for the spirit and the news is just one big joke. I used to like movies quite a bit. I still have a lot of movies but for the same reason I dont watch tv, I dont watch many movies anymore either. My thing is that i know when life is over, God is going to ask me what I did with the time that was given and I already have enough wasted and mis-spent time to answer for so I dont want to waste anymore in pursuit of things that I know will upset God in the end.
About me personally... I'm a happy person in general. Light hearted and good humored. I like to laugh regularly and make other people do so. I'm a dedicated and loyal person to those that have found their way to my inner circle. I'm an honest person that will always tell the truth instead of what people want to hear because God calls all of us to do so and so few people do anymore. In a generation where people are so easily offended, people lack the courage to stand up for what is righteous, true and just and that's a problem. Its a problem that I wont be found guilty of anymore though. My circle is small because I look at content of character. Trust is everything. Integrity is everything. I dont stand in judgement of others but I do stand in discernment of them.
Ultimately... What I want from life is a wife with Gods approval stamped on her heart. I want a house filled with warmth and love. I want a house where the holy spirit feels welcome by all who dwell there. I've been shacked up in a relationship without the wedding rings before and I speak honestly saying that I cant allow that to happen again so I would hope that the thought of such an idea would never cross the mind of anybody here with an interest in me. Also, I've never been married or divorced. I want to take the vows one time and one time only. If you have questions, by all means, feel free to ask. I look forward to hearing from you.
