Maybe not, seeing the infamous #7744 is lurking about trolling the forum to see which threads he can corrupt. Matthew 28 verses 18 - 20 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." It is impossible to share the Gospel without knowing who the Gospel is about. A person cannot worship Messiah without knowing who He is and what he is like. How can one be a witness of Messiah when they know nothing about who He is, or what He is like. Post Reply

Posted : 12 Aug, 2020 03:34 PM Where you start your reading relationship with God is really up to you and how you want to get to know God first, ultimately. You're still learning about the same God regardless of which part of the Bible you start in. You're just starting at different points in humanity's relationship with Him. If you're someone who prefers to start at the very beginning of things and work forward from there, you might prefer to start with the Old Testament. If you want to get a feel for where our relationship with God is now to start your journey, it's probably best to start with the New Testament and then back track from there. This is how many people start. If someone wants to get to know who Jesus is from a detailed and engaging source first to get them started, the Gospel of John in particular is an eyewitness account of Jesus' ministry from someone who was very passionate with his writing and often put more details into it that may not appear in some of the other gospels, which can make John's Gospel an easier and more engaging read for someone who is just getting their feet wet. If you have a study Bible there will be references to the Old Testament. Many new believers try to read the Bible like a book from front to back. The Bible is a collection of 66 different books, letters, and historical records. All are divinely inspired by God and recorded by men for our instruction. Starting from the front you will get through Genesis and maybe Exodus before getting bogged down in Leviticus and Numbers. The Old Testament is important but can be heavy and confusing to the new believer. John and Romans lay out what it means to be a Christian. Post Reply
