John the Baptist: The fearless Servant...

There is no question that we are impacted and affected by many situations and circumstances surrounding us everyday. but the magnitude of the impact of these circumstances and situations often is a question of our FAITH and how we manage what is going on around us.

When God's divine plan calls for a major impact on the wolrd, He choose and uses men and women who will not fail Him in times of struggles. He seeks to sue those whose FAITH displays the inner quality of fearlessness. God chooses men and women of valor who are fealess and determined to carry out His will with out complaints and murmuring, regardless of how difficult the situations or circumstances or how heated the situsation may be in times of crisis.

God always empower those He uses with His Holy Spirit for the work He has called them to do. John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit in his mother's womb for the work of the ministry God had called him to do. God equipped John and empowered him and had His hands on John from the womb until John's ministry was completed. Just as He does all believers for the work of ministry.

The purose of John's ministry was to prepare the way by preparing the people for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to turn them back to focus on their FAITH. Fear tests the character of a man/woman, and many succumb to this fear of their oppressors rather than stand their gorund and refuse to compromise.

John the Baptist was a fighter. He knew God was with him and would send Jesus to right the worngs of his day, all he had to do was hold on and take a firm stand. John was know among the poeple as a wild man, who broke the mold of the common man and sought to separate himself from the sins of the world. He was wild in the sense that he was fealess and unafraid of the consequences of those who came up against him. John determined that he would speak the truht of the gospel to all who could and would hear and listen to him. he knew no fear, and his fear was a healthy kinf of fear because his fear of God out weighted that of man.

If God should decide to choose you for a major task to the world...What qualities do you have that would give God cause to use you for ministry to the world? Can God count on you not to compromise just to keep the peace? Or will you take a stand for righteousness sake without fear of thsoe in opposition?
