- About Me
I'm a minimalist with a passion for truth.
I came to my faith outside of any denomination and my faith is very simple. Faith works by love (Gal 5:6) and love works no ill (Rom 13:10). The Cross of Jesus Christ is participatory in the sense that we lose our old life in a real repentance (death of the old man - Rom 6:6) and are then raised up to a new spiritual life in Christ having been granted a fresh start with our past transgressions truly washed away forever.
"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." (Heb 10:16-17)
"God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." (1Jn 4:16-17)
I would love to meet someone of like-minded faith.
I am an Australian immigrant to the United States and I therefore have somewhat of an international perspective on culture and life. I very much appreciate the opportunities and freedoms we have in the USA. I'm libertarian minded yet God focused (true liberty is being set free from sin - Joh 8:34-36).
I've worked in many fields throughout my life. I worked as a pastry cook for almost a decade before working my own driveway painting business for several years. I have also worked many years in construction, carpet cleaning and the flood/fire restoration field and also spent a year back in Australia as a solar panel installer. I currently work as a Lyft/Uber driver in Nashville, Tennessee and love it due the flexibility, profitability and, most of all, the opportunity to meet and minister to people as I work.
I believe very strongly in health and fitness and I am therefore very active in running and exercise. I love to hike (or bush walk as we all it back in Aussie), especially long and difficult hikes and I also love attending attending and playing in the local soccer pickups we have in Nashville. I view our bodies as a temple/vehicle through which God has given us for the opportunity to minister to others and therefore taking care of ourselves is both a witness of our love of God and also a means by which we can be effective "doers."
My interests are quite varied and I consider myself somewhat of a "thinker." I like to ponder ideas and learn new things. I enjoy history, economics, philosophy, technology and people. I like to understand what makes people tick and how the world works.
I also love to laugh and I am pretty easy going. Aussie culture tends to be quite playful and sarcastic which is why Aussies tend to tease each other a lot (in a good way). I think it keeps things fun but I do have to be careful in the USA because I have learned over the years that what is ok in Australia is not always ok with people in the USA and therefore I have some funny stories.
The following is a link to the PDF file of a book I wrote on Christian salvation. I do not make any money off this book, nor did I write it to puff my ego. It was a passion project that evolved out of an article I was writing on the subject of grace. The article just grew and grew as I added things for clarity until I realised it was going to be a book. The book is quite well documented in that it took me on a journey through church history.
The book is a refutation of what I consider one of the most dangerous theological errors every developed, that being the error of "substitution." As Christians, we are to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints in light of those whom have crept in secretly and turned God’s grace into lasciviousness (Jude 3-4).
The book is free to download and will help give people a deeper insight into my understanding of the scriptures which are NOT of private interpretation (2Pet 1:20).
I’m not looking for a long distance overseas relationship.
Please be well and I thank you for reading.
