How I describe myself:
I'm like the young lawyer from the short story "The Bet" by Anton Chekhov. If you get the message at the end (only a few pages), you already know more about where my heart is.
What I'm looking for:
A woman who fears the Lord (Prov. 31:30).
A woman who has learned the most through difficulty or adversity and becomes stronger through them (Rom. 5:3-5; 2 Cor. 12:10; 2 Tim. 3:12; 1 Pet. 3:14).
A woman who sees everything through the filter of God's Word (Acts 17:11; Heb. 4:12; 1 Thes. 5:21-22; 2 Tim 3:16-17).
Favorite joke:
Not long ago, I was walking along a California beach and was deep in prayer. Suddenly, the sky clouded above my head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "Because you have tried to be faithful to Me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."
I said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want." The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports to the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust every natural resource I have made. I can do it, but it is hard for Me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify Me."
So I thought about it for a long time. Finally I said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand a wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy."
The Lord replied, "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"
**My question to anyone is this: When you stand before God, are you certain He will say to you, "Well done good and faithful slave...enter into the joy of your master" (Matt. 25:21) or will He say to you, "Depart from Me you who practice lawlessness" (Matt. 7:23)? If you're not sure, send me a note asap! It is imperative that you "know that you have eternal life" in Christ alone (1 John 5:13)!
