The most important thing in life to me is a close relationship with Jesus and learning to trust and follow Him. There is always more… as C.S. Lewis said, further up and further in! While the discovery of the depths of God is endless and exciting, I find peace in the simple grounding concepts of salvation. He loved me while I was still a sinner. He saved me apart from anything I could have done. In this I rest. His love in the small details of life fills me with wonder.
The great commission is a deeply important part of life as well. I’ve embraced the adventure of artistic street ministry and had many amazing (and wild) conversations, mostly on the streets of Toronto.
I’m thankful for a great family, for the beauty of nature, and for the adventure of discipleship in the family of God. It’s worth mentioning that my family currently lives in Ontario, so I’m staying open to the possibility of living back there at some point.
On beautiful days I love hiking in the mountains of British Columbia. Like life, the harder the climb, the better the view. I love being still to enjoy creation and the Creator. Turns out, being still also tempts wildlife closer, and this is a never ending source of entertainment, except when it’s a bear. My amusement level hits a time delay with those critters.
After graduating (homeschool all the way), I toured with a Christian arts company for about ten years as one of their dancers. It was an eye-opening season, both in meeting many different people and cultures, and in watching God work in multiple scenarios. Now I’m teaching ballet, mentoring students to create productions and tour, and watching for what God has next in His plan.
My outlook on life (whether theology, politics, or family views) is very conservative with a side order of curiosity as to why others think the way they do.
I hope to connect with someone who is also deeply committed in faith and dependence on God. Someone who enjoys conversation and laughter, values family, outreach, and community, and the quiet, surprising beauty of life.
