In May, I graduated from college. I was training for a professional basketball career during the summer when I randomly agreed to go to church with my mom. At the end of service, I heard a voice call me up to the altar. Since I grew up going to church 2-3x a week, I knew what an altar call was. I was thinking that if I hear that voice again, I'll go up and say yes. I hear the same voice next Sunday at the end of service, so I go up. All I remember is what seemed to be a wave or ocean or lots of water washing over me as soon as I raised my hands. After I heard them talk about praying tongues, I went back to reality because I used to pretend to pray in tongues when my parents forced me and my brother to pray with them before school when we were in 9th grade. The year was 2008 and ever since I've craved holiness and the Word.
As a flawed man of faith, I'm praying and preparing to love my future wife like our Messiah loves His church. I don't want to rush! How can new friends turn into worship partners that lead to a 50+ year marriage & kids? 🤔🙏🏾
