I live where a lot of others go to vacation! As a result, most people Match shows live far from me.

In a relationship, I hope to see this progression: respect, trust, safety, acceptance, honor, gratefulness, caring, giving, healing, comfort, tenderness, cherishing, commitment, and passion.
Education: Lessons are everywhere. My father’s father was an electrical engineer. My first word was ‘ight’, missing the ‘L’. I loved to be held up to a wall switch, flip it up and down, and see the light across the room going on and off. Growing up, I did well in most academic subjects while leaning toward STEM. Years later, I began an EE degree from Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA, where my grandfather got his first college degree.
My family of origin had its problems, as many do, and I began looking for something beyond myself for ‘life’ and deeper satisfaction. My customary church taught that we relate to God through ‘liturgy’. They also taught some Bible and church history. While some people think and feel very differently from me, I did not see past religious conflict and personal sacrifice centering around liturgy, rather a culture clash as seen today, based on strongly held beliefs. So I sought and found (or was given) a deeper Biblical faith. I have gone through some personal trials, and that faith has matured, not waned. Some simple matters of my Christian faith are a part of my inner and outer daily life.
I hope always to be observant and learning. I changed educational courses and followed Biblical studies. ‘Adventures’ began, melding engineering talent and ‘missionary’ interests. For about five years, my first wife and I, and eventually three sons, lived along the northern border of Israel; I traveled almost daily in southern Lebanon for work.
I also worked for many years as a television ‘technician’ of several specialties. I’ve worked with people from all over the world, many cultures and languages, some of the people so excellent and motivated to see our world closer to an actual state of freedom and peacefulness. I have quite a few experiences I could relate.
My first marriage had many issues, and despite the priority I gave marriage, through self-discovery and some counseling, I decided there are worse things than divorce. As a part of my processing this, I wrote a personal journey document to which I can provide a link, if you wish.
The relationship that later became my second marriage was ‘grace and mercy’ at work. We fit well and loved each other with great depth. Cancer and complications took that from us after 21+ years.
I was somewhat introverted in my formative years, but in a few situations and in the company of certain wonderful people, I am more lively. I *thrive* on close, personal connection. I can be an open book – if you don’t want to know, don’t turn that page!
I like both to be a satisfied home-body and to be out-and-about at times, but the last several years have not been what I was hoping them to be. I became overweight, but I'm working toward being more healthful. I hope to find someone with whom I share common ground, and where each of our differences, strengths, and needs will weave well with the other - a catalyst for motion, growth-development, and joy in our lives.
