This seems to imply placing oneself under another but voluntarily, not coerced, forced,or manipulated.
I stopped doing many sins as drinking, seeking remarriage, pride, and more. Continuing getting rid of many other habits. All goes down in time in most of us.
The wrath of God comes ON THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE.
We walked sometime in covetousness WHEN we lived in them.

FORNICATION, ALL UNCLEANNESS AND COVETOUSNESS, NOT NAMED ONCE AMONG SAINTS, NEITHER FILTHINESS OR FOOLISH TALKING, NO VAIN MAN CAN DECEIVE US, BECAUSE OF DOING THOSE THINGS EVEN ONCE, THE WRATH OF GOD COMES ON THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE.

SUFFER IN THE FLESH TO CEASE FROM SIN
NO LONGER LIVING THE TIME IN THE FLESH TO THE LUSTS OF MEN, NOW TO THE WILL OF GOD
TIME PAST SUFFICED US TO FULFILL THE WILL OF THE GENTILES IN LASCIVIOUSNESS AND LUSTS AND ABOMINABLE IDOLATRIES/COVETING
THEY THINK IT STRANGE THAT YOU DO NOT RUN WITH THEM STILL TO THEIR SAME EXCESSES OF RIOT, LEFT ONLY WITH SPEAKING EVIL OF YOU..

PLEASURE TO THEM TO RIOT IN THE DAYTIME WITH THEIR SPOTS AND BLEMISHES SPORTING IN THEIR OWN DECEIVING S WHILE FEASTING WITH YOU..

WALK HONESTLY? NOT DISHONESTLY, WHICH IS THEIR RIOTING STRIFE AND ENVY, SHAMING HIS FATHER...
