Open, honest, faithful...I am looking for friendship first and then whatever God has planned...friendship is key to a long term relationship. I enjoy life...even when the speed bumps & pot holes interfere. I'm very involved in my church - Independent Baptist - youth ministries are my specialty.
I accepted Christ as my Savior as a child so I have been a Christian for lots of years but have not always walked the Christain walk. Even when I strayed, Christ was there. I rededicated my life to Christ and Christian service in 1996 and have striven to be a positive living testimony for Christ since then.
I enjoy spending time with my family which is spread out along the east coast and in the midwest...2 of my nephews (3 & 9) (and my sister) live nearby so I spend much of my free time with them.
I've had an adventurous career to date--took me to many places in the world--I'm planning to wrap that part of my life up in the next 2-3 years...sooner if possible. I equate my 'job' as a translator between the people who want computer systems to help them perform their jobs better and the techies who write the code. I took a detour a few years ago to teach/direct a small Christian school but had to go back to a more profitable line of work...the DC metro area is very expensive. I would love to be able to return to more full time ministries.
I have played a variety of sports (volleyball, softball, tried basketball, used to do some running, etc). I enjoy being a spectator either at the game or in front of a TV...I particularly enjoy watching my nephew's baseball games...I taught him most of the basics. I've been the score keeper and wrote news articles for intramural sports programs on military installations.
I love to travel and explore new places...I would like to share the travel experiene with someone special.
I believe in honesty...it's easier to remember what you've said if you tell the truth. We've all done things we regret...I've learned and continue to learn from my mistakes. As I taught my students and younger siblings/nieces/nephews...if you lie about what you've done, it only makes it worse. The truth eventually comes out...a friendship/relationship built on lies is like the foolish man building on the sand...there is no foundation.
My picture is from Aug 09...at my 30 year high school reunion. I am comfortable with who I am and how God made me. He's blessed me with good health, wisdom, family, friends, a great church, and most importantly gave me His free gift of salvation when I called upon His name (Romans 10:13).
I wish you well in your search for friendship, love, or whatever you seek. Thanks for learning a little about me. If you're interested in learning more, please send me a message. God bless you.
First Date
A first date should be a mutually agreed upon event preferably in an environment where we can talk. I view the first date from this forum as an opportunity to see if there is any 'chemistry' and planned after e-mail exchanges and some phone calls to determine if there's enough in common to meet in person.
I enjoy most cuisines...Italian and seafood are my favorites. I like museums like the Smithsonian Air & Space, American History, Natural History, etc but am not too fond of art galleries.
While I enjoy walking on the beach and in the mountains, these would be adventures for future dates.
