- About Me
-
I'm not looking for a serious relationship.
I live a solitary life.
So, I do feel lonely.
I got on this site to have some connection to the outside world.
And not feel isolated.
I thought it might help to have someone to talk to.
And as an experiment.
I want to see if I can find a woman who is a serious student of the Bible.
Though I think I have a better chance of meeting Big Foot.
I'll tell you a few things about myself.
God gave me a love of Bible study.
I need to study for hours every day. Yes, need to.
Also, I did a street ministry over a period of ten years.
And, I've written six books about the Bible and self-published them online.
I'm working on number seven.
I stopped going to churches. Why?
Because when I told people in churches that I write books about the Bible,
they reacted as though I said I'm an angel and I can fly.
Most churches make their people think they're
not worthy to study, interpret, and teach the Bible.
They think having an original thought is the unpardonable sin.
I came up with a Bible quiz as a fun way to be in God's Word.
Here's one of the questions:
Tell me TWO who said, "I am the first and the last."
I walk everywhere.
I avoid cars, trains, planes, boats.
I like a simple life.
I focus on Bible study, a simple ministry, and a healthy lifestyle.
I don't like traveling.
Hate it, actually.
My idea of traveling is going to the kitchen to get something to eat.
I don't have any savings, no money in the bank.
I live from month to month.
I don't own a house or a car.
I don't go out after dark.
I have no teeth and don't use dentures.
I don't use public bathrooms.
I'm not a Catholic.
I don't speak in tongues.
I'm not a member of a church or denomination.
I'm a member of the Body of Christ.
When I'm at my desk, studying and writing, I have the radio on, loud.
There's a small local station with no commercials.
They play music from the 40s to the 80s.
Yes, I do sing along, a lot.
I have two bookcases on either side of my desk, filled with study books.
That's my happy place, my Heaven on earth.
In the evening I like to read the news online.
And I have the TV on.
I like to listen to silly TV shows that make me laugh.
I'm vegan because I like it, though I'm not sure if it's a good way to eat.
I like to drink water with a little tart cherry juice in it.
I filter the water.
I only eat organic food.
I eat buckwheat, lentils,
nut butters, raisins,
sweet potatoes, oregano, fruit, etc.
I love long walks.
And I'm stubborn about getting enough sleep.
The following questions aren't my Bible quiz.
They're for us to begin to know each others' beliefs.
I'd love to know your answers.
One) Is Jesus Christ your LORD and Savior? (Jesus Christ is my LORD and Savior)
Acts 16:30-31.
Two) If you answered yes to question one, my next question is, did you receive your salvation only through your faith, or by a combination of your faith and something that you've done or are doing, such as baptism, sacraments, or any other act, deed, or work? (I received my salvation only through my faith Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear that salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned by something we do, and can only be received through our genuine faith).
Three) Did Jesus give you His Holy Spirit to live in you? (He gave me His Holy Spirit) If you don't have God's Holy Spirit living in you, then you do not belong to Jesus, you are not one of His. Romans 8:9
Four) Is Jesus God? (Jesus is God, 100% God) John 1:1; Colossians 2:9.
Five) Did Jesus actually die, and did He literally rise from death? (Yes to both. Jesus told His disciples that He would be killed and then rise from death after three days, Matthew 16:21. Jesus died while He was on a wooden cross that He was nailed to, John 19:30. And He rose from death, Matthew 28:1-10; Revelation 1:18. If you don't believe that Jesus actually died and literally resurrected, then you are not a Christian, you're doomed)
1 Corinthians 15:12-20.
Six) Was Mary a virgin when she conceived and gave birth to Jesus? (Yes. It was foretold in Isaiah 7:14 that a virgin would conceive
and give birth to Jesus, the Savior, who is called Emmanuel, which means, "God with us." Mary herself testified that she was a virgin, and the angel Gabriel told her Jesus would be conceived in her womb by the power of God's Holy Spirit) Matthew 1:20-25;
Luke 1:34-35.
Seven) Is the Bible the only Scripture, the only Authority, the only Umpire, the only Holy Book? Or, are there other books that are also Scripture? (The Bible is the only Scripture, the only Authority, Umpire, Holy Book, and there are no others) Acts 17:10-11.
Eight) Do you study the Bible on your own? When I say "study the Bible," I'm not talking about going to your church's services and Bible studies. Those assist you in your own study. I'm talking about having a relationship with Jesus through your own personal Bible study. Do you have a place at home, a laptop, at a desk, with bookcases full of books, where you spend hours at a time immersed in Bible study? Do you get joy from Bible study? Do you love it? Do you think about what you studied as you go through your day? Do you feel like you can't wait to get back to that desk? (That's the way I love to study the Bible) Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Matthew 4:4; Hebrews 5:11-14.
Nine) Do you do what your pastor, church, or denomination tells you to do, or do you do as God's Holy Spirit leads you? Are you afraid to have an interpretation that's different from your pastor's interpretation? Do you think having an original thought is the unpardonable sin? (I do as God's Holy Spirit leads me. I study, interpret, and teach the Bible. And I trust what God's Holy Spirit teaches me).
Ten) Did Jesus ever sin? (No. Jesus never sinned, 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).
Thank you for reading this far.
