Question to all my brothers and sisters in Christ..
Posted : 18 Mar, 2013 09:01 PM

If Paul told us that the Scriptures are all we need (through the guidance of the Holy Spirit) to be taught, reproved, corrected, and equipped in our walk (2 Tim. 3:16-17), then wouldn't it seem that these apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers that he mentions in Ephesians 4:11 are the ones in the Scriptures and not the modern day pastors in the churches?

What are your thoughts on this? I'm eager to know what you think.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

I don't see "all we need" in that portion of scripture at all.

Now as far as todays church offices there are still profits and apostles although they usually go by the title of pastor. I think there has been a stigma attached to the titles (prophet/apostle) that people just fear for some reason.

Gods word tells us that in the multitude of counsel their is wisdom.

I do agree that in many areas the leaders have fallen short in their direction of the body especially in the area of divorce and remarriage.

Know this they will be held accountable for this. But we too have the scriptures and we have if we do not read and pray over them for the intruction of our lives we too will reap the results of our ignorance.

The ignorance of those walking the path of destruction concerning divorce and remarriage is staggering.

I just hired a new guy and he confesses to be christian. He is so involved with keeping the diatary laws and the sabbath yet he is living with a woman who is not his wife and they are having a baby together.

His justification for it is out of fear and he tries to guise it in religious mombo jumbo.

Is God pleased with him for keeping the law yet in relationship he failes to love this woman like he is called too. His selfishness is staggering. His ignorance is obvious.

Unless he repents he will be heading for a hurt.

If one follows your thinking concerning the integrity of the word of God, no one would be in the family of God. When do believe the word of God passed away.

What gave methat idea?

The Post and the implication's which are several.

If it is in the new covenant it has never changed, and some would try to say that modern pastors meeting in buildings are not scriptural.

What are your thoughts are very reveratory to a believer in Christ, it is what we believe with the heart that counts, and then we line our thoughts up to that, or simply put agree with the word of God

TC, I think you should stop reading into what people say and actually read what they say.

What I mean is you imply thoughts and motives that havent been expressed and this is wrong.

I would greatly encourage you to repent of such a attitude.
