Do you still believe in True Love waits ?

Hi everyone. I remembered when I was in high school I attended a seminar on true love waits and I found it very important to teach to the teens and young adults. We were taught to pray for our future mates and write a letter to him/her even of we haven't met them yet. I read Christian books that were relevant with this topic and it's very helpful. I remember the story of Jacob and Rachel, Isaac and Rebecca, and Boaz and Ruth. These are biblical Character examples that we can use as a reference regarding biblical dating/courtship issues.

My answer is Yes. How about u? do you have same experience? would love to know from your perspective. God bless ! 1Cor. 13 <3

I do believe this. Yet, I'll be the first to hold my hand up and admit I struggle to put it into practice.



I strongly believe two things. First, the wisest man I know taught me that what is true today will be true tomorrow, will be true in a year etc. This applies to love as much as it applies to anything else. Secondly, not waiting can sometimes be an act of desperation. That, in turn, shows lack of trust in God's will for us. Yet, there is all the difference between passive hiding away and active waiting, praying, hoping and meeting new people.



So, I guess the verse which would sum my attitude on this one would be "Lord I believe. Help my unbelief."

Yes I do believe Sjoy that true love waits.

I have no experience about it since I haven't met my true love.

I believe while waiting for him to come in my life, I will wait in patience and faith to God who will manage everything for us to fall in love to each other. I will wait by using my time to serve God and my freedom as a single Christian woman with responsibility.

Yes I do believe the time will come.

Wait

�Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply.

�My future and all to which I relate

Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait?

I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,

�You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,

We need but to ask, and we shall receive.

And Lord I've been asking, and this is my cry:

I'm weary of asking! I need a reply."



Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,

As my Master replied again, "Wait."

So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,

And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting for what?"



He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine . . .

and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.

I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.

I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.



"I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.

You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.

You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint.

You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.



"You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;

You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.

You'd not know the joy of resting in Me

When darkness and silence are all you can see.



"You'd never experience the fullness of love

When the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.

You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,

But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.



"The glow of my comfort late into the night,

The faith that I give when you walk without sight.

The depth that's beyond getting just what you ask

From an infinite God who makes what you have last.



"You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,

What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.

Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,

But, oh, the loss, if you missed what I'm doing in you.



"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see

That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.

And though oft My answers seem terribly late,

My most precious answer of all is still . . . Wait."

I'm not sure what you mean by "wait", but you're probably not getting a spouse unless you put some effort into looking. Every year that ticks by probably cuts your pool of potential spouses in half. There are an awful lot of people that wait their whole life and die single. Sad but true. Acceptance of celibacy is more reasonable. Think of a spouse as an extra blessing that not everyone recieves. Some do, some don't. It's the way it is.
