Let's share poetry Posted : 22 Feb, 2009 02:40 PM
This is really awesome! I'm really enjoying getting the opportunity to read these poems! Thank you everyone for sharing. Here's another poem of mine that I wrote recently. It's called:
"The Chase"
It stands to rest, among the best
That all reason and wisdom gained
Still can never fully attain
A point or mark of perfection at best
But, the chase must go on
So the catch can be strong
Enough to carry forward
A soul beaten and seeking reward
To leave no trace of regret or fear
And bury that passion to a heart that's near

Pen & Pad
You were the best sin I ever had
And everything you did was bad
You teased enough to drive me mad
But all I had was a pen and pad
So I wrote my sins in bright, red ink
And let the rest drain down the sink
My story's told and yet so old
Like those I've heard and watched unfold
The slate is clean, a lesson learned
A journey starts with grace unearned

Music soundtrack to my life Posted : 3 Feb, 2009 11:19 PM
So, I always thought that this would be the coolest thing ever: To have music play in the background of my life, just like a soundtrack to a movie. You know, a loud, upbeat song would play when I'm feeling excited or happy (actually, if I was happy the song "sunshine on my shoulders" by Carly Rae Jepsen would play), or if I was sad or down about relationships the song "Miserable At Best" by Mayday Parade would play... and if I was getting hyped up for a hockey game or football game the song "Go Buck" by Flame. Man, life would be awesome if this was possible... and those were just a few examples...
How would your soundtrack sound like?

That was interesting... It was a form of poetry, almost like reading a story... Thanks for sharing!

Hey everybody,
I love poetry and just wanted a place to share it with others and here other people's poetry... I'll start with one of my poems I wrote that was inspired by the prayer of my senior pastor this fall. It's titled "Seasons Collide":
The rain falls down in gathered puddles
Beneath my feet, washing away stains
Of all my mistakes and breaking pains
And memories of long, soft cuddles
The wind howls at my face as I break
Tears fly behind me in anguish now
Leaving me questions of why and how
But now I've put far too much at stake
I stand in the ocean, in waist deep
As the wave knocks me down, I just drown
In purity that washes me clean
I fall hard and fast in peaceful sleep
The sun beats on my dry, sandy feet
My hands touch the ground in hope for rain
So that I could gain some direction
All these years, I still seek affection
The snowflake flutters onto my nose
Piles of them, above the road they rose
Even past my cold, prostrate body
I wish for time to be frozen, stop
The leaves whirlpool around my stature
All the brown, gold, red, and orange consume
My thoughts, they spin in constant sequence
Past all the concepts of consequence
I love to be captive in His arms
His love, His kindness, it captures me
His nature so raw, it sweeps me up
And puts me face down in reverence

Now let me hear yours....

Roses are red, Violets are blue
The sun rises again to shine anew
To show us a world where colors delight
And rain pours down just before the light
To nourish those flowers that bring us joy
Like a kid who just got his favorite toy
