I grew closer to the Lord after my wife left us. I had many pastors tell me I was free to move on after she abandoned the marriage. However, I am learning that the Bible doesn't support remarriage at all, while your spouse is still alive. I encourage reconciliation with your original spouse now before you get caught in a snare you can't recover from.
And the Pharises came to him, and asked him, Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
And he answered, and saide vnto them, What did Moses command you?
And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away.
And Iesus answered, and said vnto them, For the hardnesse of your heart, he wrote you this precept.
But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male, and female.
For this cause shall a man leaue his father and mother, and cleaue to his wife,
And they twaine shalbe one flesh: so then they are no more twaine, but one flesh.
What therefore God hath ioyned together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10: 2-12 Old English
I actually am very thankful for this trial I went through because it brought me even closer to the Lord than I ever have been before. So, now that I know what I need to do, things are a bit more clear.
And vnto the married, I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if shee depart, let her remaine vnmaried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 1611
