Do you want a DURABLE, LONG-LASTING FRIENDSHIP / HOUSE BUILT WITH A STEEL FRAME, FIRM CEMENT, SOLID ROCK, & FINE BEAMS OF WOOD HELD TOGETHER BY THICK, METAL BOLTS... or a relationship / house built from weak toothpicks, flimsy paper mache, & breakable plastic, held together by brittle glue?
Yes, I'm aware my profile down below may be considered a mini-novel , but it's packed with information, & written with specific intent >>> I didn't want to give my competition a milligram of chance. Come in, stay a while, & I'll fix you a 5-course meal...
With that being said, I'm up for auction: seeking serious, spiritually-minded bidders.
First off, does God care about details? He ABSOLUTELY does! And that means I care about details as well. Read on!
Based on past experiences, it's best to lay out a few cards now, instead of tragically discovering our beliefs diverge drastically down the road later after we have invested too much time. This is one of my favorite passages: "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" Amos 3:3 (I know we may not agree on every single thing). I'm thinking of our future family, & kids; let's make it easy!
Yes, I'm very real. No, I'm not perfect... but I hope you'll appreciate the effort that was put into this extensive profile to prove that I am who I say I am. If you've noticed the effort that was put into "composing" myself on here, what does that tell you about the amount of effort I'd put into a friendship / relationship? ;)
With God's help, I PROMISE I'll STRIVE to:
...do to you what Spring does to cherry trees: make you BLOSSOM!...
...& also, be the man who nourishes, protects, helps lead you in "...the way & the truth..."
Before you run away because of so much detail, so many "requirements," such high standards, etc., PLEASE consider that I am a person who not only pushes MYSELF, but WILL ALSO ***GENTLY*** PUSH YOU, to slightly past feasible limits (iron sharpeneth iron), so that we can be THE BEST human beings for the LORD in the time we have left on this earth (see Power Couples below). A person ONLY grows, when they step outside of their comfort zone! Having said this, I AM FULLY COGNIZANT that we both have (& will have) our shortcomings (though this shouldn't prevent us from shooting high! "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll still land among the stars!"). I know you & I are NOT perfect!
Please DO NOT let my passionate confidence deter you from messaging me! I'm just a simple man, who has been blessed by the Creator of heaven & earth, to know Him & His Son. If you have questions about a topic, & I send you a link, it is not to brush you off, but rather to provide you with what I absolutely KNOW is a better, more detailed explanation, SATURATED with Biblical scripture for support (remember, I am striving to go by what GOD ultimately says, rather than man's / woman's opinion, feelings, or traditions; Christ hated vain traditions of men (Col 2:8; Matthew 15:3)).
EVERY. SINGLE. word in this profile is carefully thought out (with constant revisions) & placed in its appropriate place. I'm big on grammar, punctuation, & spelling, hence: detail (it's truly what makes communicating enjoyable), but I'm a VERY easy young man to get along with! I'm not going to be upset if you're from a different country & English isn't your native tongue =)
1. Describe the type of relationship you are looking for: What qualities would you like in this relationship or person? Are you seeking a particular age range?
I'd like to find a BEST FRIEND (age range: early 20's - early ~30's) who:
- first & foremost, has an independent fear of the LORD (goes by what the BIBLE SAYS, not man's traditions)...
...& possesses as many of the traits down below as possible:
- easy to connect & communicate with
- meek & quiet
- not overly sarcastic, please? Use it sparingly...
- also driven & ambitious (either in a career (within limits, not to come before God, or family) and/or at home)
- financially frugal (but can spend a good dollar on quality)
- likes to explore
- cooks (or willing to learn & experiment) / try new foods
- & last, but not least important, is someone who... Well, let's talk about that in person ;)
(Keep in mind! We are a work in: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION! - I've been told I may be "too picky"...I'm sorry, do you want an average man? Average will only bring you down. God doesn't like LUKEWARM! "Do not pray for tasks equal to your power; pray for POWER EQUAL TO YOUR TASKS!" God expects a return from each one of His children. Does 7th place win? What about 4th place? 2nd place? Additionally, what did Christ say in Matthew 5:48? "Be ye therefore perfect (not average), even as your father which is in heaven is perfect." Please don't hold it against me if I have high standards =))
To answer the question more fully, the type of relationship I'm looking for:
...is to be a POWER COUPLE, the way the Bible describes this incredible concept - Deborah (with her husband Lapidoth), Jael (with her husband Heber), great woman of Shunem (with her older husband), Aquila & Priscilla in the New Testament, household of Stephanas, Jonathan & Sarah Edwards, etc. POWER COUPLES MAXIMIZE THEIR MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIP FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD (a side benefit is they are usually the happiest couples). THEY INDIVIDUALLY PRACTICE GODLINESS, HELP THE OTHER SPOUSE IMPROVE IN IT, & SYNERGISTICALLY SERVE THE CHURCH & OTHERS. Remember, two are better than one. These couples set high kingdom goals above high natural or American goals; they are never content with the status quo, for they want to be growing as God expects. Every church has three categories of couples - great, average, & losers. In every marriage it is a choice, almost entirely by the husband, whether his marriage will be a power couple & his family a power family.
A little bit more about POWER COUPLES - Any worldly use of this term is worthless. A Christian power couple is like Aquila & Priscilla (converted Apollos, mutual business partnership in tent-making, hosted & supported Paul, church in their house, wide apostolic reputation, etc.). Power couples are exceptional by A PASSIONATE, ROMANTIC MARRIAGE FOR OTHERS TO FOLLOW ... both loving Jesus Christ supremely & publicly ... both serving the body of Christ individually & personally ... their home is wide open for hospitality & entertainment ... they counsel, convert, & teach others spiritual & life lessons ... they are involved in a wide range of kingdom activities ... they participate passionately in all worship & church functions ... they show initiative & creativity serving others ... they are willing to spend & be spent for others ... they have a great professional trajectory for one or both ... THEY CRAVE & APPLY THEMSELVES TO LEARNING THE BIBLE ... their children are exemplary as selfless servants of others, etc. This is the better reason to get married & should be the goal of every Christian marriage.
To find out more, please read the DISCLAIMER section way down below...
2. Describe a little of your personality & character traits. (Are you funny, laid back, more serious, open, shy, etc.?)
Please let me be humble in stating that I'd like to give you the chance to figure out some of those qualities, if we should talk - I really dislike speaking to my own qualities, as they are SoOo biased. I mean, come on, you're asking a deceitful heart.
However, if I must... If you haven't noticed already: definitely not shy, but BOLD, driven, ambitious, deep-thinking, soft-spoken, reserved, sociable, cryptic old soul who doesn't follow crowds. Also a passionate RDN (who has been told he's a decent cook); an avid movie collector, heat-generating cuddler, & adventurous explorer!
3. Describe your Christian faith. Where are you at & what are your goals? What Scripture verses are important to you?
I am blessed to have been born & raised in a Christian Baptist household... but not until I was 22-23 years old did I have a "Paul-on-the-road-to-Damascus" moment. This was the period in my life where I believe the LORD "turned my lights on;" where I came to understand the LORD's role in quickening (bringing to life, not making speedy) / regeneration, & man's role in conversion (all terms found in the Bible). Much could be said about this topic, & would be very open to discussing further!
How did the Lord's work in my life at that age affect me? Drastically. And I mean radically. I found out that what I had been brought up to believe & what was preached in church, was entirely not what the Word of the Living God actually says. I'd never heard of regeneration, conversion, quickening, sovereign grace, etc.; had always believed that I had to make the decision (when in fact, eternal life & grace is granted by God's choice, from even before the foundations of the world - see John 1:12-13, Book of Romans, & plenty of other verses from the Old & New Testament); & had constant anxiety that I was responsible for the souls of others around me. Additionally, I had also been erroneously taught that the Great Commission was yet to be fulfilled (when in fact, Christ gave His 11 apostles the charge to go into all the world to preach the Gospel), which was actually fulfilled in THEIR time. Our role today is quite different, though it does still involve evangelism. Again, let's discuss! =)
Quoted from William Wilberforce in Real Christianity
"Why is it so hard to get people to study the Scriptures? Common sense tells us what revelation commands: 'Faith comes by hearing, & hearing by the word of God'--'Search the Scriptures'--'Be ready to give to every one a reason of the hope that is in you.' These are the words of the inspired writers, & these injunctions are confirmed by praising those who obey the admonition. *****And yet, for all that we have the Bible in our houses, we are ignorant of its contents. No wonder that so many Christians know so little about what Christ actually taught; no wonder that they are so mistaken about the faith that they profess."*****
To explain a little more: I've a very small immediate family, but a very large extended family throughout different parts of the world. About 2.5 years ago, although we are close, I left my immediate family on the west coast to relocate to the east coast, &...
...currently, I am attending a small but very STRONG, VIBRANT, FERVENT, COHESIVE church in the city I live in... It's FAR from perfect, & the way my pastor put it, "We are just a bag of wretched saved sinners." rings very true. I've been involved in this church for the past 10+ years, so I don't see myself relocating anytime soon, unless there was another church elsewhere that matched, or surpassed, the one I am currently attending, in terms of preaching TRUTH, pushing each other towards the LORD, following the Bible & not man's tradition, etc. Please DEFINITELY feel free to ask more questions!
My goals? To continue being part of this STRONG, VIBRANT, FERVENT, COHESIVE church in the city I live in... to be more involved in hospitality... to join with a like-minded believer / best friend / woman / partner / wife / spouse / lover, etc., & live a life to God's glory...
If anyone says their Christian walk these days is easy... I would raise my eyebrows. These are the perilous last days & much is to be said about current "Christianity"... I've had my ups & downs, though constantly & consistently trying to push myself onwards, upwards, & forwards. It could always use more improvement *sigh*
Verses & Quotes:
Jeremiah 33:3 - Call unto me, & I will answer thee, & shew thee great & mighty things, which thou knowest not.
John 1:12-13 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
...Which were born, not of blood (your race / ethnicity / family doesn't matter; Matt 3:9, Jn 8:39, Lk 3:8),...
...nor of the will of the flesh (personal "decisions" don't matter),...
...nor of the will of man (the decision of others doesn't matter / neither can Catholic priests / popes "save" anyone by dunking them (babies) in water),...
...but of God (His choice is the ONLY choice that matters!).
Ro 9:16 - So then it (salvation) is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

So many more!
4. What are some of your personal goals in life?
Learn more about & grow closer to the LORD & His Son Jesus Christ, find a best friend & a partner, get married, have a few kids, practice more hospitality, continue to grow spiritually in this unspiritual world...
A question that might be asked is: "Are you content being single?"
Not really (I'd rather be honest here *shrugs*). The time for contentment with being single has had its fill, though one cannot force the LORD's hand. The LORD said, "It is not good for man to be alone." It also says in His Word, "Two are better than one."
There is a time to work & a time to rest...
...a time to eat & a time to fast...
...a time to go & a time to stay...
...& a time to be single as well as a time to be together.
One can only do & learn so much being single. There is another aspect of learning, growing, etc., that most likely can only be achieved by being together with someone, that comes with showing hospitality to others, building a home, giving & sacrificing for the other person...
5. How did your previous relationship end & what positive lessons have you learned which will help you succeed in future relationships?
I've gained some great learning lessons from previous relationships / courtships... & have to be bluntly truthful here...
Amos 3:3 - Can two walk together except they be agreed?
The most recent relationship ended due to the fact that though the young woman agreed that congregational exclusion IS scriptural, found in the Bible (think: New Testament fornicator, his father's wife, Paul exhorting the church there to exclude him for a time, etc.), she couldn't fathom attending a church that practiced similar REAL BIBLICAL church discipline (which is so seldomly put into practice today by so many churches). She decided to split ways. Sorry to have seen her go, but I have to go by what the Bible says. Church commitment is serious business.
Also important to mention... The relationship prior to the one above, involved a very nice young woman, who unfortunately has a mother that is very odious (I'm praying she will change). Her mother, unfortunately, gleefully (& sinfully) reveled in: meddling in the affairs of others that she did not know at all; digging up "dirty laundry;" ruling over her husband; teaching her sons to throw punches even at fellow Christians; partaking in blatant lying, etc. It's sad to see that her mother was such a weak example of the Proverbs woman ("like mother, like daughter" goes the saying, except in rare cases) / had taught her to break several Proverb verses, by digging up a person's past (not mine), & make light of something God absolutely hates (as He has repeated the warning SEVERAL times not to slander someone's reputation!). When I brought it to their attention that a) Proverbial / N.T. wisdom teaches Christians to mind our own business, "put out fires," (let past sins remained buried) & not be talebearers, backbiters, etc., & b) Christ never asked about a person's past, but merely said, "Don't do it again," she & her mother decided not to let the relationship with me progress. Though this one was truly a heart-breaker because she had so many great qualities that I will truly miss, I'm sadly thankful that the LORD saved me from a potentially very unpleasant future.
Lesson of the story above: You do NOT under any circumstance, meddle in affairs that are not your own (unless it's a life or death situation)! Too many people today stick their nose in someone else's business. God says, "DON'T!"
It's important to communicate / discuss some of these REAL LIFE experiences (though they may be uncomfortable) that have occurred, as soon as possible, to determine how you/the other person will handle them (according to your feelings? or GOD'S WISDOM FROM HIS WORD?). It's important to be like-minded, in understanding what God calls / commands us to do, in our relationships with others (LOVE ONE ANOTHER! Don't smear someone's reputation!).
6. Is there anything else you would like to add? This is your chance to get in that last (but not least =) bit of important info that you would like others to know.
Apologies in advance; please allow me to impose upon your patience for just a few more minutes! =) This section will not be short, but I believe what's written down below is also very important, nonetheless. It's intended to make you think deeply. There are many benefits to reading the fine print; I promise, no adverse side-effects!
God / Jesus Christ 1st, you / others 2nd, me last.
How much do you love Jesus Christ?
Keep in mind: Paul was #1 sinner; I'm #2 or #3 (far from perfect!)
John 7:26 - But lo, he speaketh BOLDLY! My GOD is a GOD of details; you'll not find a more detailed profile anywhere.
A. Authentic, unique, LOADED, sober profile, & genuine author. However, username is a pen name. Please understand.
B. Job applications inquire, "Sex:_?" I write in: "Never had it."
C. I scream the same way whether I see a snake, or a piece of seaweed touches my foot.
D. I promise I'm not intimidating; I just read a LOT & am very bold! Try me ;) I'm neither average, nor stupid.
E. It's CRITICAL to read "To Me, Being a Christian Means:" down below. A future relationship HINGES on worshipping God in spirit & truth, together (2 Cor 6:14).
F. I tie my own shoes, brush my own hair, make my own bed...well, only if my mom isn't home.
G. I'm running as fast as I can towards the LORD; if you're able to keep up, please introduce yourself!
H. If you desire a 5-course meal, I'll gladly prepare your order. Otherwise, if you want a burger & fries, I'll kindly point you to McDonald's right down the street.
I. "Compatible character & conduct" or "chance & chemistry"? Which do you prefer?
J. Critical Thinker (the other national deficit). If you're not a fan, I probably won't spark your interest. Only the dead go w/ the flow (Luke 16:15).
K. I love to clean, no joke!
L. If you're fluent in sarcasm, that's a language I don't speak very well ;)
M. If I steal your heart, will I be guilty of breaking the 8th Commandment? ;)
N. Please don't get discouraged if I have very little interest in talking about / watching sports (e.g., football) - is throwing around an oddly-shaped ball going to have any significance when Christ returns or in heaven?
Fear not! My tenderness matches my BOLDNESS. CAREFUL: PLEASE don't misconstrue boldness & honesty, for arrogance; instead of WRITING "I love Jesus," SHOW your audience; &, don't confuse my faithfulness to God's Word as "legalism." I believe eternal life is more by God's grace than anyone you will ever meet.
Do you desire a: fervently hot, disgustingly lukewarm, or icy cold man? boy who watches Sunday football w/ buddies & wastes time in gyms trying to grow bigger biceps? man who spends time in God's Word/house & strives to fill his heart w/ wisdom? My goal is to paint the LORD on every millimeter of my skin & thread Him through every cell of my body, that these words may be fulfilled: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, & mind." No one's perfect; I daily keep pressing on to become a better man.
I've been told I'm QUITE affectionate & tender, even w/o touch. If you: are intrigued, desirous of being led by a man w/ a FIRM hold on the Bible pointing forward & a warm, passionate arm around your back; enjoy thought-provoking conversation; aren't afraid of an occasional spirited debate, give me a shout! =) Don't be shy or disappointed - usually not super talkative; I do much better at listening!
PLEASE PONDER: Many relationships/marriages don't work out successfully (look at divorce rates, even among Christians, & how many young people already have a "Divorced Status") because both don't invest time into asking CRITICAL questions about core beliefs, life goals, Jesus Christ, God, church, marriage, family, etc. These days, marriages last a few years, if lucky; down the road, husband+wife find themselves at odds because they didn't do their due diligence.
I plagiarized the statement down below from a divorced woman's profile, w/ permission: "I've learned that taking things slow & really allowing time to fully get to know one another is critically important. Marriage is difficult, so making sure we're really on the same page in all the areas that matter most is crucial."
My profile is detailed & specific to SAVE time, PREVENT heartache, & reduce the risk of the above happening. I want a successful, contented marriage, even more than that of my own parents.
TO ME, BEING A CHRISTIAN MEANS:
A. ANYTHING but modern, contemporary Christianity!
B. Earnestly contending for the faith once delivered unto the saints.
C. Obedience isn't legalism; it's a symptom of genuine salvation.
D. Spiritual maturity: measured by how straight you walk in obedience, not how high you jump in praise.
E. Jesus said, "Search the scriptures." Which scriptures? I: love/use the KJV, having sadly noticed others contain many errors/omit key words/change concepts (feel free to ask me more).
F. Don't celebrate pagan Halloween (did Jesus dress up & go trick'or'treating?). The only time Christ had anything to do with death, really, was HIS OWN (& bringing people back to life)!
G. Have come to realize Christmas is a pagan-derived holiday (Jer 3:6; 10:2-4), so I haven't celebrated it in a few years (don't see in the Bible where it's celebrated by Christ / disciples / Jews? Honestly, feel no remorse for giving up a worldly-born tradition; history shows it originated ~300 years AFTER Christ's time (Rome 336 A.D. - This should tell you something right here!)).
H. Believe Christ commanded us to remember baptism, & His death, by way of communion (Luke 22:19) w/ real wine & bread, not white, pill-like tablets or crackers + grape juice, nor pagan Eastre (Easter) w/ fertile bunny wabbits & eggs.
I. Believe in singing with mouths & hearts (w/o guitars, pianos, drums) as a form of worship (in truth & spirit, not sensual) that's pleasing to the LORD (instruments: used in OT; not mentioned in NT - let's discuss! I find ROCK CONCERT worship a complete turn-off). Don't get me wrong: I love music, instruments, etc., but I strive to love God even more, & obeying is much more important than what I may or may not like. I don't mind a piano, violin, etc., in a house, but congregational worship omits their use. Trust God (& me --> I've read my Scriptures, & would put lawyers to shame).
J. Believe speaking in tongues (Acts 2 defines ~15 real, interpretable languages, not incoherent/devilish gibberish) ceased towards the end of Christ's Reformation (70 AD; Heb 9:10).
K. Strongly support a wife's ministry at home (or even a career), raising respectful, intelligent kids, instead of pr/teaching in church (1 Cor 14:34/1 Tim 2:11-12; think Joyce Meyer - let's discuss!). I'll put you 2nd to Christ!
L. In these perilous last days (2 Tim 3:1), 99.99% (speaking from much experience w/ people who boasted that they were true Christ-followers) of Christianity doesn't serve the God of the Bible in spirit & in truth. Ghastly, no? What percentage are you in? Do you seek the LORD's truth, or man's fables / traditions / opinions? "[Don't let me] therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth." (Gal 4:16). "From that time, many of his disciples went back, & walked no more w/ him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" (John 6:66-67).
M. Do you care about details as much as the LORD you profess to believe in, does? What does God think?
1. Cain brought (1) an offering (2) to the LORD at (3) the right place & (4) time, but God rejected both his offering & him, while accepting Abel & his offering (Gen 4:1-5).
2. Nadab & Abihu were sons of Aaron, as high in the ministry as you could get, but when they brought contemporary changes into God's worship, He burned them up (Lev 10:1-7).
3. Moses was a very faithful leader of Israel that smote (1) the right rock with (2) God's staff & (3) got the desired results, but God was angry & kept him from Canaan (Num 20:7-12). Why? Because Moses hadn't followed God's instructions correctly. Hey, it's in the Bible, not my opinion ;)
4. David was the man after God's own heart, but God killed a man because David's enthusiastic worship service was not according to the "due order" (II Sam 6:1-10; I Chr 15:11-15).
5. Uzziah was a very blessed king of Judah, but he presumed on his blessings to attempt new things in God's worship, & he spent the rest of his life as a leper (II Chron 26:16-21). Yikes! Not fun!
