About Me
Profile Updated: 2 / 1 / 2021

HE must increase, I must decrease.

Intentional profile - someone once stated, "Be the person that you'd be looking for" - So, this sojourner is looking for a pearl from among many oysters; a diamond in the rough; a needle in the haystack; a grain of suga' in the sandbox...

Chapters are evolving / added from time to time, to make things more interesting 😉 Please don't be under the impression that my profile is an "application"; rather, it's a story!

P.S. - There are a thousand true things in the profile below; however, 2 things are false. Don't hesitate to ask me about them!

P.S.S. - Profile is lengthy; read the entirety at your own risk 😇... or read a little bit at a time, while you're enjoying a cup of coffee, hot tea, or mulled cider...

P.S.S.S. - On behalf of ALL men on this website, I'd like to tender a sincere apology for our collective behavior, lack of manners, inappropriate comments / messages, etc... But please don't delete your profile because of so many bad apples... there are still some good apples to be found here 'n there...

*A light breeze scoops up, twirls, & carries a few dry leaves off the ground... they land, then tumble & dance across the cracked cement sidewalk. While the sun slowly sets behind the treeline, a few automobile horns honk faintly behind us as rush-hour traffic bustles to & fro, an ambulance's siren wavily rises & falls in the distance... I open the giant glass door to the restaurant, & you step inside...to the soft sounds of clinking glass & cutlery, as a piano plays melodiously in the background...

"Goodness, you smell wonderful tonight," I quietly say, pleasantly surprised, "You know I'm a sucker for fragrances..."

*Turning to the maître d' at the front desk: "Uh, yes, hi there, I had a reservation for two? this evening, please ."

"Oui, right this way, Monsieur... Mademoiselle, if you will follow me, please,"...as he leads us to a table on the periphery of the restaurant by large glass windows, menus tucked under one arm, a clean white towel draped over the other.

"Ohh, look at that, 'monsieur, mademoiselle'," I whisper quietly & chuckle, trying to playfully mimic his French accent, then throw you a quick wink, following behind you...

"May I start you off with anything to drink, Monsieur, Mademoiselle?" asks the finely-dressed, sharply-barbered host, turning to each one of us as we make ourselves comfortable.

"Uh, sure... whatever this wonderful lady is having," I reply, smiling at the gentleman, then turn to you... as he heads back after taking our drink order.

"So tell me a little bit about you," you inquire, as we settle in...

"Ya know... about that 'YOU'... my Physician wrote me a prescription, stating I needed Vitamin U (Genesis 2:18)... I'll take the biggest dose I can get."

"I've always heard / read that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover... so I wrote a short book for ya, & brought it with me tonight to read a few chapters... *opening the hardcover, flipping through the first few pages*

"The book isn't superficial, but rather deep, with MANY details etched on its pages. I want to be straightforward & kind, while at the same time, address some questions / topics that have been asked before, from past experiences. Forget about my looks; they'll fade with time… Let me tell you a story =)"...

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

At this point, the maître d' has returned, a bottle of fine sparkling water in one hand, & two glasses in the other, a few wedges of freshly cut limes on their rims. I pause from reading, holding my finger on the page to keep my place...

"Do you know what you'd like to order this evening?" he asks, in his thick French accent.

"Yes...the lady can order first...

... & I'll have the interesting & delicious-sounding seafood stew, please."

"Excellent choice, Mademoiselle, Monsieur," making an approving motion with his hand, as he takes a short bow, then turns & heads off to place our order, wiggling his way through the maze of tables & chairs, the sounds of other restaurant goers lightly chattering filling the evening...

"So, you were saying...?" you slyly smile.

"Ah, yes, where was I ?" *resuming my place in book*... Ah, yes, the...

PREFACE - Why so detailed & lengthy? ...because upfront honesty is one of the important foundations of a friend- / relationship! Romans 12:17

I thought I'd make up for a lot of the really, really short, empty profiles out there ... I have a deep, dark secret to confess... *sigh* I AM, in fact, a writer at heart (among several other things). I can't draw to save my life, but I find painting with words / writing quite enjoyable. It's true that a picture is worth a thousand words... but I'll write a thousand (probably more LoL) words down below, to paint 10,000 pictures for you It's packed with information & written with specific intent - didn't want to give my competition a milligram of chance.

Come in, stay a while, & enjoy the heat of the fire & a 5-course meal... It's probably important to know a few things about a person right off the bat... but don't worry! if you read the book, we won't have run out of things to discuss (promise!) ! And no, I don't have copious amounts of time to constantly compose / revise my information; TIME, EXPERIENCE, & PASSION have contributed immensely to making it easier to convey the details below.

I really want to put my best foot forward in showing a love of Christ, the Bible, & commitment to conservative, traditional Bible living, with my life established in aspects of church living, career, home, personal values, etc. Do you desire a fervently hot, disgustingly lukewarm, or icy cold man? A boy who watches Sunday football or sports w/ buddies & mostly wastes time in gyms trying to grow bigger biceps? Or a young man who tries to spend a considerable amount of time in God's Word / house & strives to fill his heart w/ wisdom & true knowledge? My goal is to paint the LORD on every millimeter of my skin & thread Him through every cell of my body, that these words may be fulfilled: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, soul, & mind." No one's perfect; I / Christ daily keep(s) picking m(e)yself up, pressing on to become a better man.

Based on past experiences, please allow me to do us a huge kindness (whether we remain friends, or progress) by laying out a few "cards" [details concerning personal beliefs (grounded in Scripture), lessons learned, etc.] now, within the paragraphs below, instead of tragically discovering our beliefs diverge drastically down the road 6 months later, after we have invested too much emotion, effort, & time. The LORD has taken me through some "Red Seas" to bring me to the shore of what I should be looking for.

This is one of my favorite passages: "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" Amos 3:3.

It's repeated again, in the New Testament, in a different way: "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, & that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind & in the same judgement." - 1 Cor 1:10

I know! we may not agree on every single thing!, but I'm thinking of our future family, & kids; let's make it easy!

In essentials: unity. In non-essentials: liberty. In all other things: charity.

PLEASE SOBERLY PONDER: Many relationships / marriages don't work out successfully (look at today's shocking increase in divorce rates (frightening/saddening), even among "Christians", & how many young people already have a "Divorced Status") because both parties involved hadn't invested time into asking / discussing critical questions about core beliefs, doctrine, life goals, Jesus Christ, God, church, marriage, family, etc. These days, marriages last a few years, ***if fortunate*** ... but down the road, the husband+wife find themselves at odds because they didn't do their due diligence in the very beginning, when (most likely) lustful & butterflies-in-the-stomach feelings were allowed to take precedence...

I plagiarized the following statement from a divorced woman's profile, w/ permission: "I've learned that taking things slow & really allowing time to fully get to know one another is critically important. Marriage is difficult, so making sure we're really on the same page in all the areas that matter most is crucial." ...I couldn't agree more!

My profile is detailed & specific to save time, prevent heartache, & reduce the risk of the ^above^ happening. I want a successful, contented marriage, even more than that of my own parents. Additionally, I want to make sure that I give solid, Biblically-backed reasons as to why I may believe / do certain things in my life. I don't want to enter a relationship "dragging" a woman around, being unsure about some of the most important things in this life; I "own" my relationship with Christ.

Every single word in this profile is carefully thought out (with constant revisions) & placed in its appropriate place. I'm big on grammar, punctuation, & spelling, hence: detail (it's truly what makes communicating enjoyable), but I'm a VERY easy young man to get along with! I'm not going to be upset if you're from a different country & English isn't your native tongue =) Also, please don't be afraid to reach out first if you stumble across my profile!

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐

With God's help, I PROMISE I'll strive to:

...do to you what Spring does to cherry trees: help you BLOSSOM!... (Eph 5:25) ...& be the man who nourishes, protects, & **helps (with Christ's strength)** to lead you in "...the way & the truth..."

A riddle to get your critical thinking gears turning a bit: "A beautiful soul is found with what two things?"

People who know me have expressed that I'm QUITE affectionate & tender, even w/out touch. If you: ...are intrigued, desirous of being led by a young man w/ a firm hold on the Bible pointing forward & a warm, passionate hand intertwined with yours; ...enjoy deep, thought-provoking conversation; ...aren't afraid of an occasional spirited discussion... give me a shout, please! =) Don't be shy or disappointed - usually not super talkative (just write a lot ); I do much better at listening!

Fear not ! My tenderness matches my unapologetic boldness, but be careful, please: don't misconstrue boldness, honesty, straightforwardness, & a strong attempt to adhere as closely to the Bible as possible, for arrogance; instead of writing "I love Jesus," please ***show*** your audience; & thirdly, don't confuse my faithfulness to God's Word with "legalism." I believe eternal life is by God's grace (not works) more than anyone you will ever meet!

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

I'm easily satisfied with the very best. I'm "Aquila" looking for his "Priscilla" - extra points if you know who these two were!

Just to make it blatantly obvious, I am a no one, a nobody, a person of no importance, insignificant, & far from perfect. Let me also be perfectly clear: I am not OVERconfident; I'm simply confident, because I've studied the most important Book in the world, & continue to study it.

"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education." - Theodore Roosevelt

My information doesn't come from just one source; I've visited many, many websites, read many, many books, listened to many, many sermons...

Question: Do you want a DURABLE, LONG-LASTING FRIENDSHIP / HOUSE BUILT WITH A STEEL FRAME, FIRM CEMENT, & FINE BEAMS OF HARDWOOD HELD TOGETHER BY THICK, METAL BOLTS, ON A BED OF SOLID ROCK ... or a relationship / house built with weak toothpicks, flimsy paper mache, & breakable plastic, held together by brittle glue, on a foundation of shifting sand?

Most importantly, does God care about details? He ABSOLUTELY does! And that means we should... & I do! care about details, as well. Do many women care about special anniversary dates & get upset when men don't remember them? Would you be upset if someone incorrectly assumed / remembered personal details about your life & history? What about Christ... don't you think He'd want us to remember as many (accurate) details about Him, if we are to love Him... or should we be nonchalant / careless about our knowledge of, & a relationship with, Him? Read on!

With that being said, I'm up for auction: seeking serious, spiritually-minded bidders.

Yes, I'm very real. No, I'm not perfect... but I hope you'll appreciate the effort that was put into this extensive profile to prove that I am who I say I am. If you've noticed the effort that was put into "composing" myself on here, what does that tell you about the amount of effort I'd put into a friend- / relationship? ;)

Before you run away because of so much detail, so many "requirements," such high standards, etc., please consider that I am a person who not only pushes myself, but will also ***GENTLY*** push / pull, & LIFT you, one small step at a time, so that together, we can step out of our comfort bubble. I want us to be THE BEST human beings for the LORD in the time we have left on this earth (see Power Couples below in Ch 2). A person ONLY grows, when they step outside of their comfort zone! Having said this, I am FULLY aware that we both have (& will have) our shortcomings (though this shouldn't prevent us from shooting high! "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll still land among the stars!"). I know you & I aren't perfect! Do you want me to state that again?

Please don't let my passionate confidence deter you from messaging me! I'm just a simple man, who has been blessed by the Creator of heaven & earth, to know Him & His Son. If you have questions about a topic, & I share a link / article / resource with you, it is not to brush you off! but rather to provide you with what I absolutely KNOW is a better, more detailed explanation, SATURATED with Biblical scripture for support (remember, I strive to go by what GOD ultimately says, rather than man's / woman's opinion, feelings, or traditions; Christ hated vain traditions of men (Col 2:8; Matthew 15:3)). Obedience to Scriptures isn't legalism, it's a symptom of genuine salvation!

CHAPTER 2 - WHO / WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR? - All you hafta do is ask 😉

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

Please let me be humble in stating that I'd like to give you the chance to figure out some of those qualities, if we should communicate. I dislike speaking of my own "qualities", as they are quite biased. I mean, come on, you're asking a deceitful heart (Jer 17:9).

However, if I must, & you haven't noticed already: definitely not shy, but BOLD, driven, ambitious, deep-thinking, soft-spoken, reserved, sociable, sometimes cryptic old soul who doesn't follow the crowds or popularity. Also a passionate RDN (who's been told he's a decent cook); an avid movie connoisseur, heat-generating cuddler, & adventurous explorer!

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

I am blessed to have been born & raised in a Christian Baptist household... but not until I was ~22 - 23 years old did I have a "Paul-on-the-road-to-Damascus" moment. This was the period in my life where I believe the LORD "turned my lights on;" where I came to understand the LORD's role in "quickening" (bringing to life, NOT making one speedy) & regeneration, & man's role in conversion (all terms found in the Bible). Much more could be said about this topic, & would be very open to discussing further!

How did the Lord's work at that time in my life affect me? Drastically. And I mean radically. I found out that what I had been brought up to believe & what was preached in church, was - (CH 4 PART II - Feel free to ask for Part II)...

My goals? To continue being part of my current (or any) fervent, Jesus-Christ-promoting church in the city I live in... to be more involved in hospitality... to join with a like-minded believer / best friend / woman / partner / wife / spouse / lover, etc., & live a life to God's glory...

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

To explain CH 4 a little more: I've a very small immediate family. ~4 years ago, although we are close, I left my family on the west coast to relocate to the east coast, to attend a small (~200+ people) but very vibrant & fervent, cohesive church in the city I live in... It's FAR from perfect, & the way the pastor put it, "We are just a bag of wretched saved sinners striving to love Jesus Christ more," rings very true.

Please keep these important quotes by CHARLES SPURGEON below, in mind...

It is understood that C.H. Spurgeon is not God / Jesus Christ, nor was he included in the 66 books of the Bible, but he said it well: “If I had never joined a church till I had found one that was perfect, I should never have joined one at all; & the moment I did join it, if I had found one, I should have spoiled it, for it would not have been a perfect church after I had become a member of it. Still, imperfect as it is, it is the dearest place on earth to us.”

And… “There is no perfect church in this world. A ‘good’ church is made up of imperfect people with a strong desire for God & His word.”

I've been involved in this church for the past 10+ years, so I'd like to see myself continuing to build connections with my "family" here (striving to be very loyal), unless there was another church elsewhere that matched, or surpassed, the one I am currently attending, in terms of preaching doctrinal TRUTH, pushing each other towards the LORD, following the Bible & not man's tradition, etc. Please DEFINITELY feel free to ask more questions!

In my effort to be as proactive & transparent as possible... - (remainder of Ch 5 Part II - Don't hesitate to ask!)

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, & glorified the word of the Lord: & as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Jeremiah 33:3 - Call unto me, & I will answer thee, & shew thee great & mighty things, which thou knowest not.

"Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do; He reveals to you Who He is." - Oswald Chambers

"Doubt is not always a sign that a man is wrong; it may be a sign that he is thinking." - Oswald Chambers

So many more!

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

A question that can be asked is: "Are you content being single?"

Honestly? ... The time for contentment being single has had its fill & reached its limits, though one cannot force the LORD's hand. The LORD did say, "It is not good for man to be alone." & also, "Two are better than one."

There is a time to work, & a time to rest...

...a time to eat, & a time to fast...

...a time to go, & a time to stay...

...& a time to be single, as well as a time to be together (LOL <<< that part isn't actually in the Bible , but you get my drift).

One can only do & learn so much being single. There is another aspect of learning, growing, etc., that most likely can only be achieved by being together with someone, that comes from showing hospitality to others, building a home, giving & sacrificing for the other person...

This chapter has been intentionally & purposefully left out; it is available immediately upon request. There's nothing to hide; just a bit too long, & I'm also trying to work on being more gracious (meaning, the details of a previous courtship between me & a young woman don't necessarily need to be aired out like laundry ) Feel free to ask, though; I'm prepared!

Apologies in advance; please allow me to impose upon your patience for just a few more minutes! =) I believe what's written down below is also very important, nonetheless. It's intended to make you think deeply. There are many benefits to reading the fine print; I promise, no adverse side-effects!

A. Authentic, unique, LOADED, sober profile, & genuine author. However, username is a pen name. Please understand
B. Job applications inquire, "Sex:_?" I write in: "Never had it." >>> THIS will be my first gift to you.
C. I scream the same way whether I see a snake, or a piece of seaweed touches my foot.
D. I promise I'm not intimidating; I just read a LOT & am very bold! Try me ;) I'm neither average, nor stupid.
E. It's crucial to read the "To Me, Being a Christian Means:" section down below. A future relationship HINGES on worshipping God in spirit & truth, together (2 Cor 6:14).
F. I tie my own shoes, brush my own hair, make my own bed...well, only if my mom isn't home
G. I'm running as fast as I can towards the LORD; if you're able to keep up, please introduce yourself!
H. If you desire a 5-course meal, I'll gladly prepare your order. Otherwise, if you want a burger & fries, I'll kindly point you to McDonald's right down the street (there is a very deep meaning behind the previous statement).
I. "Compatible character & conduct" or "chance & chemistry"? Which do you prefer?
J. Critical Thinker (the other national deficit). If you're not a fan, I probably won't spark your interest. Only the dead go w/ the flow (Luke 16:15).
K. I love to clean, no joke!
L. If you're fluent in sarcasm, that's a language I don't speak very well
M. Please don't get discouraged if I have very little interest in talking about / watching sports (e.g., football). Is throwing an oddly-shaped ball among grossly-overpaid meatheads going to have any significance when Christ returns, or in heaven? Let's discuss!
N. If I steal your heart, will I be guilty of breaking the 8th Commandment?

---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

A. ...ANYTHING but modern, contemporary Christianity!

B. ...earnestly contending for the faith once delivered unto the saints.

C. ...obedience isn't legalism; it's a symptom of genuine salvation.

D. ...spiritual maturity is measured by how straight you walk in obedience, not how high you jump in praise.

E. Jesus said, "Search the scriptures." Well, which scriptures? I prefer / use the King James Version, having noticed, based on considerable personal research & from other experts, that many Bible versions sadly contain many errors / omit key doctrinal words / change concepts (feel free to ask me more!). Here's a pop quiz question: "Who killed Goliath in the Bible version you use?" If you use the NIV, NASV, ESV, maybe others, you might find an interesting surprise (check 'em ). However, I want to be gracious in saying that a person's eternal salvation doesn't depend on the version they use; God saves without the Bible (think Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, other people in the Old & New Testament, before the Bible was finally put together)...

F. Have come to realize, after much research over the years (& even many discussions with other believers), that Christmas... Ch 11 - Please feel free to ask 😃

G. Believe Christ commanded us to remember baptism & His death, by way of simple communion (Luke 22:19, etc.), w/ real wine & unleavened bread... not white, Aspirin / pill-like tablets (true story!) or crackers, grape juice, nor pagan Eastre (Easter) w/ fertile bunny wabbits & eggs.

H. Ch 12 - Singing & worshiping in church... Please do not hesitate to bring up the discussion.

I. Ch 13 - Speaking in tongues... Same as above.

J. Strongly support a wife's ministry at home or even a career (I'll root for ya, babe!), helping the man raise healthy, intelligent, respectful, spiritually-minded kids, instead of pr/teaching in church (1 Cor 14:34 / 1 Tim 2:11-12; think Jory Micah, Joyce Meyer, Paula White, etc. - let's discuss!). I'll put you 2nd to Christ!

K. In these perilous last days (2 Tim 3:1), 99.99% (speaking from, sadly, plenty of experience w/ people who boasted that they were true Christ-followers) of Christianity doesn't serve the God of the Bible in spirit & in truth. Ghastly, no? What percentage are you in? Do you seek the LORD's truth, or man's fables / traditions / opinions? "[Don't let me] therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth." (Gal 4:16). "From that time, many of his disciples went back, & walked no more w/ him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" (John 6:66-67).

Thick, heavy snowflakes lightly patter on the roof, while the slow & lazy wind whistles softly, wiggling through the crowded, snow-laden trees outside, the shrill of a train blowing its siren somewhere dimly in the distance, the sounds trickling & vibrating down & through the beams of the log cabin. Inside, the warm, flickering flames of a fresh fire quickly dance in the fireplace as it crackles & snaps, hungrily licking around a few short logs, as he watches...the scent of the forest's sap filling his nostrils... He sips a mug of fresh, hot, mulled cinnamon apple cider, squinting into the colorful, orange glow, then puts his mug down next to a full one, wisps of steam still rising from both. He snuggles up in a leather recliner, cocooned in a large sheepskin blanket, deep in thought, his forehead furrowed, but an abbreviated smile on his lips...

Suddenly, he hears a knock at the door, his ears perk, & his head swivels... "Is that...her?" he muses. He unravels himself from his warm nest, quickly jumps up, & glides across the floor's smooth wooden planks, reaches for the door's handle, turns it, letting in a gust of frosty breeze & a few snowflakes...

...& there she stands, boots laced up, bundled up in a thick winter coat, a colorful scarf around her neck, neatly tucked into her jacket, hair sprinkled with frozen crystals of water, her chin slowly rising, a few snowflakes hanging on her eyelashes, eyes sparkling as they meet his, lips forming a smile, cheeks tainted rosy pink from the outside chill...

"Well, come in, come in! Don't just stand there in the cold! Come in... Come over by the fire, it's warm. I have a hot cup of apple cider waiting for ya. Dinner is just about ready to be served..."

She steps inside, lightly stomping her boots free of the melting white specks that denote winter is fully here... he gazes at her while she concentrates on unlacing her boots...

...his smile grows wider, & the corners of his eyes crinkle...

"You're here..."
