Hi ! Glad to meet you.
I'm an English teacher for secondary school students. I love teaching because I love my kids and enjoy the relationship with children.They are so full of wonderful and stunning ideas. Well, I hope that I can be better in loving my kids in the future.
I was determined to become an interpreter back in teenage times. It is cool to be among smart people and one can earn a lot of money as an interpreter.
But as I came to know about Jesus during the master's program period, I changed my mind. Kids in China are taught to compete for academic success when they are still very young and little.
Those kids who get low grades at school are so hurt by the criticism from peers, teachers, and parents.They are not confident at all. I remember one day that I was smiling at a young boy in my class to show kindness to him. But he was afraid to look at me. I could tell he was self-abased and I was so heart-broken to know he must have been badly criticized for poor grades in the past.
Other kids who are academically successful are miserable, too.They are afraid to fail in any exams or show any bad behavior.They are loved only on the condition of good behaviors.
I grew up in this race for academic success, too. I was one of the top students and I know how terrible it was to be afraid of failure.
Thank Jesus my savior who helped me to know the truth that we are unconditionally loved and accepted by Him even when we fail.Those experiences with Jesus made me more compassionate for the kids in China. So I changed my dream and became a teacher.
Our life in this world is a journey. But we are not lonely when we walk together with Jesus. Loyalty to the loved ones and solid faith in Jesus would be adorable. Addiction to smoking, drinking, gambling, porn or drugs is not tolerable. Sounds like a recruitment post ?Well, I didn't mean it.
But I think true disciples of Jesus will not be addicted to those things. Other qualities are not sure yet. So much for this.
