I've been separated for about a year and a half. I'm 79 years old, and I've lived in Baja Mexico for the last 16 years, and would love to meet someone that would be open to living there. But, I'm flexible and Keeping an open mind. I'm not a wealthy man, and I live on a fixed income, which is one of the reasons I lived in Mexico. I rented a house for $550.00 a month and lived right on a beach. But I also loved the people, who are totally into the family unit, and for the most part Catholic. I have many friends there, both American and Mexican.
I suffered a heart attack about 5 years ago, but am fine now, or as fine as someone can be after a heart attack. I originally lived in a small town named Mulege, which is about 600 miles south of the border on the Sea of Cortez. I loved it there, but my wife had MS, and felt we were too far away from good medical care. So after 6 years we moved up to an area about 20 miles south of Ensenada called La Buffadora, which is about 80 miles from the border.
I'm currently staying at my daughters house. I originally came up to get some medical procedures done because my daughter's house is 15 minutes away from the Veterans Hospital, where down in Baja I was 80 miles from the border, and on some days, it can take you 3 hours to get a across. Unfortunately it wasn't long after I got up here when Covid 19 struck, and no procedures were getting done.
I was raised Catholic, but always had questions about what I was being taught by the Nun's and eventually faded away from the church, but I think I always believed in God. It wasn't until the last 6 or 7 years that I came back to God, and realized that God believed in me, despite all that I had done. I owe the return to some good friends, who by example and good honest conversation, led me back.
- First Date
- What would I do on a first date? Probably take whomever it was to dinner where we could talk and get to know one another. I'm not looking to change anyone to fit my needs, and I'm not looking for someone to change me either. That doesn't mean I can't compromise on important issues. I believe in interdependence. Where both people are independent, but there to help each other back up if one of them falls. Their separate, but also connected. I've probably put enough info in here to scare most of you off, so I'll stop!
