I've always been into relationships for the long haul. I've never been fickle or indecisive about what I've wanted. I've always wanted a partnership not specifically 50- (because by what standard does that exist in all situations?) but one where both people are on the same team and have common goals and truly enjoy each other on a daily basis. A team that can outlast the changes and challenges in life and truly love and respect each other. There's very few things I'm picky about in a person and I don't really have "a type". I'm pretty fact driven but I'd love to have that feeling again when a special someone enters the room. Even for the most logical of people it's still good to feel the butterflies from time to time and realize God can still provide your life with beautiful and wonderful things
I'm kind of a reluctant extrovert. I used to really worry what people thought of me and in a first encounter and I can seem quiet, or dare I say mildly snobby but that's my awkward "feeling out process". I'm not being judgemental I'm kind of poking around the water to make sure it's safe. Ask any of my longtime friends and they well jokingly tell you "enjoy the quiet, it's not going to last".
I'm a fairly uncomplicated, hard working, keeper of several interests and am very interested in just about anything. Most of my friends use me as their personal Wikipedia. Good people have been badly hurt watching Jeopardy with me but I promise I'm not all nerd nor am I a genius. My favorite scent is campfire and my favorite sound is waves breaking so God really lead me to the right place. My first love in my life was music and I had a pretty solid go at that in my 20's. I love the outdoors, I love sports, traveling, I'm pretty handy and like DIY projects around the house and yard, pretty good mechanic, like to learn new things, I'm in the process of getting back in shape, I try to run 4-5x's a week, weights about the same, I've played hockey nearly my whole life (don't worry I have all my teeth), I love going to Tigers games. I love reading and always have a pile of books near my bed (mostly non-fiction). I was a writing tutor in college and have dabbled writing for some web pages and historical societies. History kind of dovetails with my love of travel and the outdoors.
I really just want to be remembered as a "solid dude" who honored god, helped when he could, loved as much as he could, and left things better then he found them. I've been trying harder lately to not be so concerned about the goals I have and just enjoy the journey I'm on. It seems all I am missing is my teammate and partner. That is where this online dating thing comes in.
- First Date
- That depends on the person, everyone is their own person and personality so hopefully by the time a face to face meet up was planed I could come up with something impressive, be it relaxed or adventurous.
