For me, I prefer people who can be talkative. If someone is talkative in regards to similiar interests, yet able to listen and consider, great. I prefer people who explain things properly. Without this we get confused.
About communication. My experience has shown if the other person is enthusiastic about the relationship, this will show by constant communication. If they lose interest, they won't communicate very much at all.
So if you say that your interested but stop communicating, I will consider the relationship non-existent.
