Firstly, my faith means everything to me, and I'm hoping to find people to talk to who feels the same way.
I AM UN-VAXED AND WILL REMAIN THAT WAY! (I'm hoping you are too). I AM ALSO "AWAKE" (No need to explain, as if you are too, you'll understand, lol).
Secondly my family. I have two grown kids (along with their significant others and kids), who mean the world to me. They don't live with me, but I do like to spend time with them. As well, I have parents in their '80s who need me from time to time. And I enjoy the time that I still get to spend with them. Also I have friends, and it would be my hope that you do too.🙂 I think it's healthy, and great to have the perspective of good friends to help one stay the course, and take some pressure off their significant other.
Then there's my dog. He's a 2-year-old rescue from Mexico. He still suffers from some separation anxiety so he hangs with me most of the time. He's extremely cuddly, and loves to receive kisses. So right now he's my 'plus one'.
-Now for the less formal stuff, I'm pretty goofy. I'm laid back, and it would not be uncommon for me to within minutes decide that I'm heading on a road trip. That road trip may be for an hour in the country, or it may be for days. I don't even need to have a destination. I just need a small cooler, a picnic blanket, a pair of sunglasses, a cold beverage and a small snack (a change of clothes and some toiletries if I'm going for more than one day), and I'm off. I'm good doing it alone, but I always find it more enjoyable with someone special. My friends often refer to these little getaways as my "adventures", and many of them love to join me when it suits them. No plans, just a GPS and a debit card.
I love to travel. My whole life has been full of travel, as a child my parent's business brought a lot of travel experiences into my life. That travel bug took refuge in me, and still taps me on the shoulder often. So as soon as these crazy travel restrictions come down, I want to go. Until then, just more of the above adventures.
-Im musical! It has been part of my whole life in one way or another. I sing. So if you are musically inclined, then let's try it together.
-Being creative is really important to me. My job is pretty "full on", so although I need social and physical fun time, I also need a creative outlet. So, I often enjoy painting with acrylics, gardening, flower arranging, and decorating my house for different festivities throughout the year from Christmas to birthday parties.
Creative can also fall into cooking for me. I love to cook. I really enjoy learning cultural cooking. I have been known to spend hours watching cooking shows from around the world, especially those that travel to those countries, where I get to see people cooking in their natural habitat. Then I just want to get out there and buy the things I need to do it too. So my kitchen is chocked full of all sorts of cooking tools, and table decor to set the mood.
-I seem to enjoy business all the time, but that really isn't all of who I am. I also need my alone time, and I thoroughly enjoy it.
I enjoy reading quite a bit, and I'm very comfortable to do that beside a special someone who might be reading too. In fact being able to do nothing but be together to me is a really big sign of comfort in a good connection.
-I also enjoy downtime. Hanging out on my deck, getting engrossed in a TV show, watching a movie, or playing games etc. (I can be quite competitive)
-I'm self-employed, and able to work remotely. So I'm more than open to working from another country, preferably where there is sun.
I have big boundaries for my work, and usually I only work 4 days out of the week. My work does not consume me, nor is it who I am. However it keeps me self-sufficient, and allows me to have the things I love.
- First Date
- I looking more at this as just an opportunity to make friends. I've been on my own now for about 3 years and am just starting to get my feet wet again. lol. So I think I'd be a bit cautious on the 1st meetup. Maybe let's not even call it a date.. after all all, good relationships start with a solid friendship anyway . Maybe just grabbing a coffee and taking a walk at White Rock by the beach. And if things go well, and there was a second day planned , I might want to
throw a couple of lounge chairs, a blanket, and a bag of goodies in the car and just drive to wherever the car takes us, (locally if course), sounds like a good adventures to me!
