I grew up outside Chicago but came to Ames to study engineering. And I'm somehow still here and enjoying it, even though I'm more of a city guy at heart, know nothing about farming, and don't want to live anywhere smaller than Ames.
I think I'm a pretty stereotypical engineer in that I like to think about things rationally and analytically as much as possible, but I also really enjoy reading, some writing, singing, listening to music, and being caught up in the emotion of a really good story or song. As far as reading, I really enjoy sci-fi, some classics, and theology or philosophy. I listen to music often and enjoy most anything that could be described as rock or metal.
I can be very blunt in my speech at times, and take full advantage of that by sometimes saying things or doing because they are unexpected and out of the ordinary just for fun. Like how half the reason I'm trying to grow marsh mallows is to confuse people when I tell them about it. I enjoy some spontaneity in life and am willing to try most anything once, no matter how weird.
It usually takes me some time to be comfortable enough to open up to others, to have deeper, more intimate conversations. It doesn't always come naturally to me but I'm much better at it than I used to be.
The most important thing about me is that I am a Christian. I try to follow Christ in all that I do but am not always good at it. I attend church every week and am currently attempting to get more involved. I'm spending a large portion of my time with our college ministry to try and be a good example and give whatever wisdom and understanding I have to those around me. I enjoy hearing and reading about God and the Bible, and reading what other smarter believers have thought over the years.
Ultimately I'm here looking for a wife, someone that will be my best friend, and someone to be a good mother to our potential children. She must also be a committed Christian and active in her church.
