About Me
The spacious cafe was strangely silent as Ruan Shishi hung her head while nervously stirring the coffee in front of her. The atmosphere was rather awkward and strained for a while.
Half a minute after he sat down, the man asked flatly, “Is this your first blind date?” His aura was so overbearing that a simple question from him made Ruan Shishi even more nervous.
Ruan Shishi was having the first blind date of her life on this day. Yielding to her mom’s carrots and sticks, she came unwillingly to the prearranged cafe and found the designated seat.
She had thought of the blind date on this day as a mere formality. Much to her surprise, the man who sat opposite her turned out to be Yu Yimo, the CEO of the Yu Family Group. This man could set the entire Jiangzhou City quaking with a stamp of his foot!
Most importantly, Ruan Shishi was working at the Yu Family Group as a clerk in the administrative department. A big shot like Yu Yimo certainly wouldn’t know her in person, but it would be too difficult for Ruan Shishi to pretend that she didn’t know him.
So, she stuttered nervously, “Y-Yes. T-This is my f-first time…”
Sizing her up and down with his cold gaze, Yu Yimo asked, “Have you graduated from university?”
“Yes, I have.” Ruan Shishi gulped subconsciously before adding, “I graduated two years ago.”
Yu Yimo was silent for a moment after hearing her reply. He looked calm and casual with his good-looking face that was devoid of any emotion. On the other hand, Ruan Shishi’s heart was restless. She wondered which deity her mother had worshipped to have gotten such a top eligible bachelor as her date. At the same time, she couldn’t help suspecting that Yu Yimo had sat in the wrong seat.
Or perhaps she was the one who sat in the wrong seat instead. Thereafter, she cast a sideways glance at the seat number on the table and found that it was indeed number 18.
She then mustered up her courage and asked, “Err… Have you sat in the wrong seat?”
Yu Yimo asked, “Have you brought your household register with you?”
They spoke and finished their sentences abruptly at the same time.
Ruan Shishi raised her head in shock upon hearing Yu Yimo’s words. Upon seeing his near-perfect facial features at a breath away from her, Ruan Shishi’s cheeks flushed bright red in an instant and her mind went completely blank.
Blessed with the good looks of a noble gentleman, Yu Yimo looked even more handsome than the male celebrities that were popular at the time. Even then, he often deterred people away from him with his overbearing aura as a businessman.
Ruan Shishi had entered the Yu Family Group as an intern while she was studying at her university. She then stayed on after passing her internship, and two years had gone by since then.
She had seldom seen Yu Yimo over the last two years, and even if she did manage to see him, she only had a view of his back from afar. Now that she was meeting him face to face, it felt even more surreal than her dreams.
“Do you still have any questions?” Yu Yimo shot a glance at Ruan Shishi’s blushing face as a glimmer of warmth crept into his cold eyes.
Ruan Shishi shook her head. How could she have any questions toward her boss?
Just then, Yu Yimo’s cell phone rang. He picked up the phone, and after a brief silence, he replied crisply, “Got it.” Then, he hung up and looked up at Ruan Shishi. “Let’s go.”
The way he stood up was as decisive as the way he spoke and conducted himself. Ruan Shishi stood up obediently as if spellbound, thereafter she followed Yu Yimo out of the cafe.
Yu Yimo was 190 centimeters in height while Ruan Shishi, who was following behind him, was 170 centimeters tall; she looked petite and delicate when compared to him. She got into Yu Yimo’s car—a black Maybach that he usually drove—after him.
The car had a luxurious interior, yet Ruan Shishi felt like she was sitting on pins and needles. She fiddled with her two fingers anxiously while asking herself from time to time if she was dreaming right now. At the same time, Yu Yimo had taken notice of all her reactions.
He suddenly broke the silence in the car by saying, “My family has been pressing me into going on blind dates, but I don’t want to waste my time on such matters. Seeing that your looks are quite pleasant and you’re pretty comfortable to look at, I have no problem marrying you.” His magnetic voice rang in Ruan Shishi’s ears.
Ruan Shishi stared at Yu Yimo in surprise. Though she did go on a blind date with him, surely their relationship had not advanced to the point of getting married yet.
“Shouldn’t you take some time to consider? We don’t seem to know each other that well…” said Ruan Shishi, who continued her sentence inwardly.Yet.
“There’s no such need.” Yu Yimo cut her short as his whole body exuded a chilling aura. Then, he said authoritatively, “Be my wife, and I, Yu Yimo, will give you everything you want.”
Unbeknownst to Ruan Shishi, Yu Yimo had known her like the back of his hand before he came for the date.

Chapter 2 Getting Married
The car came to a stop right after he finished his sentence.
Then, Du Yue, his personal assistant who had been sitting silently in the passenger seat, got out of the car. He pulled the car door open for Ruan Shishi and gestured to her to step out of the car.
“Civil Affairs Bureau?” Ruan Shishi was in disbelief upon seeing the destination; she pinched her arm hard, only to grimace with pain at once.
I-Isn’t this a bit too fast? She hadn’t prepared herself for marriage. Besides, she couldn’t help feeling a little coerced into getting married.
Ruan Shishi wanted to back out, but Du Yue, who was at the side, walked up to her and called with a smile, “Miss Ruan.”
Flustered, Ruan Shishi found an excuse for herself. “I-I didn’t bring my household register.”
After all, she had never heard from anybody that she would have to register for marriage right after having a blind date!
Du Yue gave a smile as he led Ruan Shishi into the building. “It’s alright.”
Ruan Shishi had the feeling that she was up a tree when she saw the way Du Yue acted. She turned round and glanced at Yu Yimo, who was still in the car.
Recalling his expression just now, Ruan Shishi felt that he might kill her if she ran away at that very moment.
So, she could only brace herself and follow Du Yue into the Civil Affairs Bureau.
It took less than ten minutes before Ruan Shishi came out from the Civil Affairs Bureau with a little red book in her hand.
The book—her marriage certificate—was dazzlingly bright under the sunlight.
Ruan Shishi patted her face as she still felt like dreaming. She had registered her marriage to Yu Yimo with no need of a household register and without having to be present together with the groom. Had she become a married woman just like that?
She still felt that everything was so unreal, until Yu Yimo got out of the car only then did she come to her senses.
Yu Yimo took the marriage certificate from Du Yue’s hand and put it into the pocket in the lining of his suit jacket.
Then, he raised his eyes and looked at Ruan Shishi as he said, “I’ll have an urgent meeting in a while, so I’ll have Du Yue send you home first. I’ll visit your parents later.”
Ruan Shishi nodded in resignation to her fate.
Upon seeing her response, Yu Yimo said no more; he turned and walked to the road junction. Then, he stopped a taxi and left.
Ruan Shishi’s mind began wandering as she watched Yu Yimo disappear from her sight. The incident on this day was quite bizarre; she wondered what good she had done to have registered her marriage to Yu Yimo, the Prince Charming of the entire Jiangzhou City!
After seeing Yu Yimo off, Du Yue pulled the car door open for Ruan Shishi and said, “Please get into the car, Madam.”
Madam?
Ruan Shishi snapped out of her daze upon hearing her new form of address. She gave Du Yue a glance with an embarrassed look and nodded before getting into the car.
“Madam, this is my business card with my phone number on it. Call me anytime if you need anything in the future.” Du Yue turned around and handed his name card to Ruan Shishi with both hands.
Du Yue was Yu Yimo’s senior personal assistant. With his high position, he could be considered the superior of Ruan Shishi’s superiors.
Seeing him handing her his business card in person, Ruan Shishi was quite nervous. She took the business card with both hands and said involuntarily, “Thank you, Ch—”
She immediately shut up before finishing her sentence when she realized she had almost let it slip.
‘Chief Du’ was the nickname that she and her colleagues gave Du Yue inside the company; if Yu Yimo was a king, Assistant Du would be his chief eunuch.
“There’s no need to be courteous with me, Madam,” said Du Yue reverently and politely.
Seeing him giving her such a polite and friendly smile, Ruan Shishi gulped and decided to keep silent.
She couldn’t help feeling that what happened on this day was too surreal, especially considering that she had gotten married merely three hours after her blind date.
In retrospect, she felt she had been too hasty; she shouldn’t have submitted unconditionally to Yu Yimo simply because he was her boss. She had no idea how she was going to explain to her mother what had happened when she got back home later.

Chapter 3 You Should Be Named a Tomboy!
“Madam, President Yu will be here right at 6 p.m.,” said Du Yue after Ruan Shishi got out of the car.
Ruan Shishi was staying in an old neighborhood for teaching staff. So, the sight of her getting out of a luxury car drew a lot of attention in an instant.
Ruan Shishi had no time to think about how Du Yue knew that she was staying here. She gave Du Yue a nod and quickly fled the scene.
She climbed upstairs to the 6th floor without stopping. When she reached the entrance of her home, she was already gasping for breath while feeling exhausted.
She was about to knock on the door when Madam Liu, her mother, stood behind her while carrying her grocery basket.
She opened the door while saying in disapproval, “Shishi, why are all out of breath like this? That’s not lady-like at all.”
Ruan Shishi stuck her tongue out. As soon as the door was opened, she took off her shoes and entered her home before Madam Liu did. Then, she immediately rushed into the living room and picked up the glass of water that she left in the morning to drink it.
Madam Liu shook her head in exasperation. “Ruan Shishi, the way you conduct yourself is truly a disservice to the name that I gave you. You should be named a tomboy instead!” she said as she put her grocery basket away in the kitchen. Then, she walked out of the kitchen and muttered, “I heard from Mrs. Liu of the neighborhood when I came back that there was a girl who just got out of a luxury car. I wonder whose daughter she was. What a good fortune she has.”
Ruan Shishi said timidly in a weak voice, “That was me.”
“Hmph. You? Would a wealthy man take a fancy to you?” Madam Liu smirked disdainfully. “Let beggars match with beggars. Ruan Shishi, look at yourself in the mirror, and you will know what kind of man you deserve.”
Madam Liu’s outright disbelief and merciless hammering left Ruan Shishi speechless.
Madam Liu and Professor Ruan were both lecturers at the university, so it could be said that Ruan Shishi was born into a family of scholars.
When it came to Ruan Shishi’s marriage, the Ruan Family upheld that she should look for a partner from a family of similar background; they had never thought of marrying her off to a wealthy man.
Plus, they didn’t want such a scenario to happen to Ruan Shishi since it was not that easy to be the wife of a wealthy family.
Ruan Shishi knew her parents’ thoughts as well. If she told Madam Liu that she had indeed been married into a wealthy family—and the wealthiest family at that—she wondered if Madam Liu would pass out from shock.
“By the way, how was your blind date today?” said Madam Liu to Ruan Shishi in an interrogative manner as she walked over and sat down on the sofa.
Madam Liu was now retired and she would normally stay at home; she usually spent her time by square dancing and volunteering at the hospital.
The blind date that Madam Liu set Ruan Shishi up with was the grandson of Madam Li, whom she knew at the hospital.
“Mom, where did you know that man from?” Ruan Shishi put the glass down and sat beside Madam Liu on the sofa.
“He is Madam Li’s grandson. From what I have heard, he is already 30 years old, but he remains single because he has been busy with work. I saw his photo, and he looked quite matured and steady.” Madam Liu smiled softly at the mention of Yu Yimo as she was visibly very pleased with him.
Ruan Shishi bit her lips as she observed her mother’s facial expressions. Her mother had obviously no idea who Yu Yimo really was.
“You haven’t answered my question yet. How was he?” Madam Liu shot Ruan Shishi a dirty look upon realizing that her daughter had diverted the topic.
Ruan Shishi nodded her head while biting her lips. She answered perfunctorily, “He… He is nice.”
She pondered deep down inside if she should let out that she had registered for marriage by accident.
“That’s good. You may try getting along with him first since only time will tell if he is a good match for you.” Madam Liu stood up and walked toward the kitchen to wash the vegetables that she had just bought.
Seeing that Madam Liu was about to enter the kitchen, Ruan Shishi rushed over in a big stride and tugged at Madam Liu’s sleeve. She asked, “Mom, where is Dad? Is he coming home for dinner tonight?”
“Yes, he’ll be home tonight. What’s the matter?” asked Madam Liu.
Ruan Shishi shook her head before nodding her head. Finally, she said in a whisper, “Err, he’s coming to our home for dinner tonight.”
She decided to inform Madam Liu first that Yu Yimo was coming. As for her marriage certificate, she wanted to keep it a secret until Professor Ruan returned home so that she could have someone covering her back.
“Who?” Madam Liu didn’t understand who Ruan Shishi meant at first, but upon seeing her daughter’s blushing face, she instantly realized who Ruan Shishi was referring to.
“That’s great!” Madam Liu shot a glance at the vegetables in her basket and immediately walked to the front door. She changed her shoes while saying, “I’m going to buy some fish and meat.”
The door opened and closed, and Madam Liu had left home before Ruan Shishi could react.
Only after Madam Liu left did Ruan Shishi heaved an internal sigh of relief. She went back into her room and closed the door. Then, she carefully took out the marriage certificate from her pocket.
