I am just getting my toes wet in this online dating process, not quite sure if I want to go all in. I started a family late in life, so I have a young adult son, no longer living with me. My ex-husband and I separated in 2007. He and I are still friends, but nothing more.
I am a life-long Lutheran (ELCA, for other Lutherans who may see this), who generally attends church weekly, with a few exceptions now and then.
I have a fairly laid back and flexible personality. Regarding politics and many other topics I am opinionated, but willing to listen to the views of others. As with most people, my views on current controversial topics have migrated through the years. But, don't worry, I am reasonable. I believe the Bible is an awesome guide for a Christ-centered life, but perhaps God intentionally left it open for interpretation. Even if that is not the case, the Bible has been through many interpretations since its first writing in Hebrew and Greek. As a result, I am wary of people who quote and apply the Bible out of context. I DO want a relationship with Christ as the center and look forward to Bible study and discussions with my partner.
I am not yet retired. I used to work in the IT field. Ever since my ex and I split up, I've been working Administrative Assistant type jobs, currently working as a substitute Secretary and Paraeducator in school. I do love to travel, camp, hike (as long as it's not too difficult), read, play board games, garden, bird watch, go out to eat, and many other things. I used to love dancing.
I do not smoke (anything) and do not want to date anyone who smokes anything, except maybe meat and marshmallows (LoL). I'll have a drink, or occasionally two, once in a while, but I actively avoid drinking to excess. I do not use illegal drugs of any kind or marijuana.
I am looking for a committed Christian, who displays a sense of caring and respect for others (while driving, too 😄), who is comfortable in a group setting or one-on-one, is a good listener & willing to admit when he is not correct, someone who likes kids & family fun, and very high on my list is someone who is honest and ethical.
